doesn't make any sense at all there to let the clock run to the 2 minute warning. use the timeouts and they may get to 4th down at the 2 minute warning

He was in bounds before he jumped beyond the sticks and the ball was beyond the sticks when he lands out of bounds. How was that not a first down, what am I missing?

Line to gain extends to infinity. a-hole refs

Only I can think is that it guarantees they run it. If one of the TOs is called at say, 2:05, no reason not to throw it then.

I was just thinking why let the clock run there. So dumb. Prob cost 10-15secs

A first down marker is not the goal line. The goal line is a unique animal in itself - it has an invisible plane that extends from the front edge of the goal line upwards into infinity. So all you have to do is extend the ball and break that invisible plane, and its a touchdown...
A first down marker isn't like that at all. You can't extend the ball past the marker, and then claim a 1st down. It's where you last touched the field before the play is ruled down, and in this case, the last point in-bounds where Brissett stepped was where the ball should be marked. He extended the ball past the 1st down marker before going out of bounds, but that doesn't matter....

Welp, I hope Derrick Henry dies.

If the player lands on his knees and extends outward with the ball another two yards, if his knees hit first, than the ball is marked down where his knees landed, NOT where he extended the ball. He has to stay on his feet, or hands, for the ball to be marked where he extended it.
In the case here, the last in-bounds spot where Brissett touched before going out of bounds was where they marked it, not where he extended it. He had to last touch in-bounds past the 1st down marker, in order for the refs to mark the ball past the 1st down marker.
If he dived forward and extended the ball past the 1st down marker, and touched somewhere in-bounds past the marker, then the refs would've marked it a 1st down. But just sticking the ball in the air past the marker means nothing. Doing that only has meaning where the goal line plane is.....

Can’t believe they didn’t have someone dragging with him to throw to

Did he step out of bounds? Was close and they never looked.

Final score looks like a whipping, but it was tight until that Henry TD at the end.

I was winning my Fantasy game by 1 point over a guy who only had Succop left playing. Then Henry broke that bullshite run and he tied me with the XP kick.
I love you Henry but frick you.
