Rodgers and it isn't even debatable. Favre threw a lot of godawful, soul crippling interceptions

Say what you want about today’s 7 on 7 context but what A-Rod’s accomplished in this era is simply unreal: TD/INT ratios of 30-7, 45-6, 39-8, 38-5 and 40-7, all accomplished on 64%+ completion pct, 103 passer rating or better. The only seasons that remotely approach that excellence is Tom Brady’s 2007 and 2016 seasons and Peyton Manning’s 2013 season. So consistently brilliant, it’s uncanny. This dude, with Brady, is the cream of today’s NFL crop and there’s more remaining barring career-ending injury.

Rodgers, but Brett Farve has the GOAT personality in the NFL.

Favre was more fun. A football player.
Rodgers is a better passer.
Rodgers is a better passer.

Rodgers and it's a landslide . Though to be honest give any quaterback that played pre 2004 the rules today and they would vastly improve .
ETA : you really can't compare qb from different time frames due to the rule changes . The rules are so skewed toward offense now

The guy who hasn’t thrown the most interceptions (by far) in nfl history

But in terms of actually playing the position and having a peak to what he can accomplish, he's the best anyone has ever seen.

Since your are A PUNK who knows NOTHING about football,,,, Ill give you A pass here... From MY view Favre LOVED the game and played it that way... BUT OF COURSE.. This IS the MSB where STATS are ALL that matter..........

Brett Favre 1995-1997 over any other QB in history. And this was at a time when defense and the running game were legit.
40 year old Favre had his best statistical season in this 7-on-7 era we're in now. Rodgers is great but he benefits a ton from the style of football being played.
I don't see Rodgers throwing blocks on LBers 20 yards down field like Favre, either.
Sure, Favre was reckless at times throughout his career, especially in the 2000s but Favre at his best (95-97) over Rodgers at his best.
If Favre played his whole career in today's NFL he would be untouchable in my opinion.

I'll take Favre any day of the week!!

In unrelated news, Adrian Peterson ran for 1383 yards and 18 touchdowns in 2009.

He played plenty in somewhat recent memory and threw 3 of the worst passes I've ever seen at the worst possible times to throw them.
1. 2003 playoffs in overtime at Philadelphia. Favre throws a pick so bad that Brian Dawkins basically could have fair caught it. He returns it for a nice gain, Eagles kick a FG, game and season over.
2. 2007 playoffs at home vs NYG. In overtime, Favre throws a horrendous out route that basically hit Corey Webster in the hands. NYG started their drive in FG range, kicked a FG, game and season over.
3. 2009 playoffs at NO. Statistically, Minnesota dominated that game. 3 Favre picks kept NO alive and his last one kept Minnesota from kicking a game winning FG. Minnesota loses in overtime.
If you remember these throws, you can't defend him for them. They were just awful. Everyone loves him because he was the great gunslinger, but he also set a career interceptions record that will likely never be broken.
ETA: I almost forgot about the 6 interception playoff game in St. Louis in 2001 when 3 of them were returned for touchdowns.

Brees' 2011 season was phenomenal.
Matt Ryan last year is up there, too

Not to say he's the GOAT ... he isn't ... Not yet (would need a lot to get there win-wise in my eyes personally) ... But in terms of actually playing the position and having a peak to what he can accomplish, he's the best anyone has ever seen.
Then he's the GOAT or GOAT is pretty meaningless.

This is tough because on one hand, I'm of the opinion that Rodgers is basically the Lebron of the QB position. He's perfect. Big arm, pinpoint accuracy, mobile, and durable. He takes hit after hit and not like Peyton Manning where he folds up bracing for contact.
On the other hand, Favre pre Manning and Brady was basically what we think of Rodgers today. Big arm, pinpoint accuracy, mobile, and durable. You don't just luck into MVPs.
Ultimately Rodgers has the far and away edge in not committing turnovers which does it for me.

Not really. Brady’s accolades, stats and overall resume are clearly the best in history, and consensus is that he is the goat based on that. However, there are many people that acknowledge that in terms of peak playing ability, Rodgers is the best. Aaron Rodgers is the perfect qb, he has no flaws. Rodgers just wasn’t fortunate enough to play with bellichek, Moss, gronk or a top ranked defense during his career. It’s similar to the jerry rice/randy moss argument. Rice is the goat receiver, but at his best, Moss was more dangerous.

More man-like: Favre...
