When Gwyneth Paltrow was 22 years old, she got a role that would take her from actress to star: The film producer Harvey Weinstein hired her for the lead in the Jane Austen adaptation “Emma.” Before shooting began, he summoned her to his suite at the Peninsula Beverly Hills hotel for a work meeting that began uneventfully. It ended with Mr. Weinstein placing his hands on her and suggesting they head to the bedroom for massages, she said. “I was a kid, I was signed up, I was petrified,” she said in an interview, publicly disclosing that she was sexually harassed by the man who ignited her career and later helped her win an Academy Award

They were probably asking for it with the way they were dressed.
Shame on them for tempting Weinstein. Poor Harvey, he dindu nuffin.

That's gonna leave a mark. But, we're supposed to believe Jennifer Lawrence was spared, right?

Why didn’t they something then?
I’ll accept that they may have felt pressured to comply for the sake of their careers... but once you’re a fricking worldwide mega star???
And you sure as frick don’t need to be singing the fricker’s praises for political purposes.
That entire world is proving to be nothing but a cesspool.

Someone explain what this guy really did, not just insinuated and why is it such a huge deal that all these "stars" are now forming a lynch mob now if it happened years ago?

Sigh.
This is another one of those times I wish LAT was still around. He was sounding the alarm on this topic as well before he passed away.

So brave of these women to finally speak out

For 100 years people have known about the casting couch stuff that goes on in Hollywood. Everyone should have realized by now actresses in Hollywood are only about a half step away from prostitution. I don't find anything about this jaw dropping in the slightest.

edit: I see that she did get out of there. Good for her.

But they wait till they are over the hill and no longer receiving the star roles anymore to come out with this.
Please! These women knew who and what Harvey was and willing sold their bodies and their souls to him for movie roles.

So zero courage on their part and by not saying anything, they allowed countless other females to be molested...or worse.
:golf clap: So brave Gwyneth.

Guess this explains why Gwen steams her vag.

So by not reporting the incident, they are part of the cover-up!!

Paltrow is just trying to jump aboard the victim train. Her mother is an actress and her father was a producer/director. I'm not saying Weinstein didn't try to bang her like he did so many other actresses over his career or that doing so was right. But for Paltrow to give us the "babe in the woods story" is a joke. If any young actress knew how Hollywood worked, it would be her.
Studio heads, producers, directors "forcing" aspiring actresses to have sex with them in exchange for movie roles didn't begin and won't end with Weinstein. This has been the case as long as there has been movies. Again, I'm not saying that practice is right, just, or ethical. But forgive me if I don't quite buy the sob story these actresses are trying to put out there. I suspect 90% knew EXACTLY how the "game" was played and were MORE than willing to participate in exchange for fame and fortune

The Gwyneth Paltrow allegation I do think is the most shocking of them. I didn't think she'd have to jump through that hoop given her parents.

So GP's Mom is Blythe Danner and was an established actress at the time this took place and GP said nothing to her Mom?
