the anticipation, tracking booster flights, interviews, etc. I love it, I relish in it.

I have come to the realization that no matter what happens O will not be fired until next year at the earliest.

Consider that O wasn't hired to complete a rebuild and 3-9 or 4-8 no longer gets it done around here. Plus, the base knows O will never be an effective HC.

I'm afraid that you are correct. I think even if we go 3-9 and Alleva gets fired he's back in 2018.

You and me both.
Unfortunately, unless O losses every game left in the season he will not be fired. We will have a bad year, recruits will bolt, and we will drop in talent. O will return next season for another bad year before being fired.
So I think we are still over a year away from the process. Then, unfortunately, Alleva and Alexander will be in charge. Alexander is not getting rid of Alleva after making him his bitch after the public abort and overrule of Les' firing. Alleva is Alexander's whipping boy and he will be used as a potential fall guy once again when they look for a cheap hire.
Get rid of O, you have Alleva. Get rid of Alleva, you still have Alexander. Our problems are systemic, multilayered, and run all the way to the top. O is just an orc, Alleva is Saruman, and Alexander is Sauron.
I'm a pessimist. I don't see a light at the end of this tunnel. Only darkness.
