Figure it would be a nice comparison 4 games into Kamara's career vs Bush
Bush:
45 carries, 147 yards, 3.3 YPC, 0 TDs
23 receptions, 187 yards, 8.1 AVG, 0 TDs
1 Fum (1 Lost)
Season End:
155 carries, 565 yards, 3.6 YPC, 6 TDs
88 receptions, 742 yards, 8.4 AVG, 2 TDs
2 Fum (2 Lost)
Kamara:
15 carries, 83 yards, 5.5 YPC, 1 TD
20 receptions, 147 yards, 7.4 AVG, 1 TD
0 Fum (0 Lost)
Projected:
60 carries, 332 yards, 5.5 YPC, 4 TDs
80 receptions, 588 yards, 7.4 AVG, 4 TDs

And we don't have to yell at him to run forward instead of sideways ??

If Peterson is traded away in the next two weeks, I would be willing to bet he beats those projects barring injury.

Im willing to bet right now. He's getting more and more usage and he'll be the feature back in another 3-4 games I think. Obviously Ingram will be getting a solid dose as well.....but Kamara will thrive in this offense and his numbers will show it

I don't think AP's usage has any affect on Kamara. His numbes are going to continue to increase as he continues to develop as a Pro. If anything AP will take away rfom ingram or is waiting for Ingram to get nicked up to hold the position until Ingram can return.

I still don't understand Bush's inability to translate to the NFL well.
Dude was one of the most exciting college players i've ever seen.

Partly the conference he was in, partly the talent around him, partly being in a spread offense in college, but mostly being faster and shiftier than most everyone he played against.
The speed gap in the nfl is MUCH smaller than in college.

Dude played 11 years in the league, he was doing something right
He made numerous big plays in the NFL, more so than most. Rushing, receiving, punt returns
Long TD vs the Bears in the NFCCG, the two TDs vs the Cardinals in the divisional round, TD to give us the lead in the 4th vs MIN in the NFCCG
He’s always portrayed in a negative light by saint fans bc they expected too much. He was vital to our success when he was here

There was no way he could live up to the insane expectations. But he was a damn good player and a big reason the Saints won a title.

can we do one on Rickey Williams also.

Bush never seemed to reach his potential frequently enough.
Cooks was similar.
AK doesn't seem to have that issue, but it could be a matter of fan expectation

Cooks didn't? Jesus what did you expect?

I think Bush's issue was anatomical. He just has thin legs and couldn't hold up to shoestring tackles well. Look at his lower body compared to someone like sproles. In college that half extra step to the corner allowed him to avoid contact that he couldn't in the NFL.
Good player just not strong enough below the waist.

It's why we can't have nice things.

He was a first down machine too.

As far as receiving...I guess I'd say they're about even from what I've seen so far. Bush had longer strides & created more separation given time, but I think Kamara runs better routes due to his shorter strides. Kamara barely has any wasted motion...even when compared to a WR. Not really sure who has the better hands...both are close to elite for a RB(if not elite).
Kamara plays faster than his 40 time, but Bush was the faster player...especially when he reached his top speed. Bush was elite in this area.
Kamara runs with much more power & is easily a better RB(he can run inside the tackles, & can find his way through a small opening. Bush needed a bigger hole, & was brought down by arm tackles). Kamara's vision as a RB easily trumps Bush's as well.
Bush was better in the open field, but Kamara is easily the better player when he has multiple defenders around him.
I guess it just depends on what kind of player you want, but as a rookie...I'd easily give the edge to Kamara(not saying Kamara will 100% be a better player at the end of their careers, but I'd say it's likely that he will be). He doesn't have the top end speed & elite athleticism that Bush had, but he's the better overall football player imo(his physicality blows Bush out of the water). Kamara doesn't have any weaknesses(he's above average at everything), but Bush did...I guess that's what separates the 2 imo. It's harder to completely contain Kamara. He can exploit a defense in more ways than Bush could.
