Ref just got hit hard with the puck, gets up, and shakes it off ready for hockey. Hell yeah

Damnit I’m becoming a hockey fan. I don’t know if I can handle the disappointment of another sports team.

Franchise record for saves in a shutout.

It's so awesome watching the Preds doing what they are doing and knowing that we still have Ryan Ellis to add to this team.

And we've missed Hartnell, Johansen, Bonino, and Josi for multiple games. Heck Hartnell has played in 18/31 and Bonino in 20/31

I don’t like the sound of this.

quote:

Ottawa Senators owner Eugene Melnyk floated the notion of relocating his franchise, saying Friday that the team "could look good somewhere else" if its market conditions don't improve.

Dave Lozo of Vice takes him behind the woodshed:
quote:

With your average decrepit billionaire that's been disconnected from normal society for too long that wants nothing more than to shake every dime possible from customers, it's par for the despicable course; but for Melnyk, who would literally be dead if not for a Senators fan giving him a new liver, it's especially heinous to question whether there are enough fans in Canada's capital to support an NHL team.

Since this isn't a movie, Melnyk did not gain a newfound appreciation for life or have his perspective changed on the value of money when it could do nothing to save him; instead, it took two years after his life-saving surgery to question the loyalty of a fan base that donated him a fricking organ before what should have been a positively wonderful evening at Lansdowne Park.

That’s a sharp contrast to what Cherry had to say on CBC during Coach’s Corner.

LINK

quote:

"If people don't show up and pack the place all the time... you can't survive with 13,000," Cherry said. "He's gone, Ottawa's gone for sure, don't know where, but Quebec would be nice."

quote:

Tired of seeing too many empty seats, the NHL club made the decision in the off-season to reduce capacity at Canadian Tire Centre by 1,500 to about 17,000. Rows in the upper bowl are currently covered with tarps. "I don't blame him at all, he cannot survive with 13,000 people," said Cherry. "I'm not saying he should move [downtown Ottawa] but it's too far out Kanata."

What are Carolina and Toronto doing playing in the middle of the afternoon on a random Tuesday?

Pens with 2 minor trades today that raise more questions than answers. Still not sure if selling just yet or not but most likely.
