quote:

After President Trump accused her of "poor leadership" in post-hurricane rescue-and-relief efforts, San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz replied saying that anything other than saving lives in Puerto Rico is a distraction. "The goal is one: saving lives. This is the time to show our 'true colors'. We cannot be distracted by anything else," she tweeted Saturday, along with photos of herslef on the forefront of rescue operations.

That's funny, she didn't think spouting off her suck hole on CNN was a "distraction?"

How long before the centipedes have some fun with this one?

Trying to backtrack after getting accurately called out. How about send some truck drivers to the sea ports where daddy just sent supplies?

CNN went right by the PR governor to find somebody to push their narrative. They are such scum.

NONE of these assholes whining about Puerto Rico give a damn about it. Most could not find it on a map without confusing it with Hispaniola first.

I propose the Clinton Foundation go fix it, since they did such a swell job in Haiti!

And Trump should do the same. It’s like a bunch of children are running things, lacking any emotional resiliency but with far too much pettiness that they can't help play pointless political games trying to one up one another while people are actually suffering.

And Trump had not said one disparaging political remark about PR until this woman went from being positive to negative, as someone said, after the phone lines were reestablished.

Actually, no. He shouldn't. POTUS has a cheerleader role to play. In this instance, that is one of his jobs. The mayor was way out of line.

I don't think he needed to bring up the debt in his tweet about the response efforts. Other then that, not a bad response.

She probably doesnt want to see him cry and melt like a bitch on Twitter again. Its unbecoming of a preteen girl, much less POTUS.

How is it cheerleading to tell the people of PR that they shouldn't wait for the government to do everything?

But he doesn't have to act like a middle school cheerleader, but maybe I should just accept that he has the emotional regulation skills of a middle schooler and just can't help that.

Sure. Then maybe show everybody why he’s the leader of the free world, able to our aside petty insults, because that’s what leaders do.

No.

You are replying to a bunch of people here who lived through Katrina and dealt with the ramifications. Many on a very personal level.

We watched as our Democratic leaders in Louisiana, from the Governor, to the esteemed reps in congress, to the NOLA mayor, completely botch everything while Bush was trying to get things done. They held up everything due to their incompetence, and Bush played "nice". Look at what happened in the media and Bush.

I didn't even vote for Bush and knew he was railroaded.

Someone has to fight back against these morons.

Again, we aren't dealing with "normal" leaders anymore and haven't been for a long time. If a D was POTUS, this woman keeps her mouth shut. Everyone knows it.

Well actually most if tweets over the last week about PR, were criticizing their debt, and infrastructure and relationships with Wall Street. And I'm not sure why since they can't read them anyways because of the storm.

But regardless, "well he/she did it first" is something we don't expect children to use, so why it's every used as an excuse in this context is mind-boggling (same with Bush did it too excuse).

As much as I hate that the POTUS has to respond, there really is no other choice for him. There is no kindness or shame on the part of a Progressive. Every crisis is a weapon to be used to the fullest extent possible. They are political bullies. And the only way to respond to a bully is to stand up and fight back.

Makes me sick to my stomach.
