I don't think it has. More people are talking about not supporting the NFL than supporting his cause.
The exposure worked, definitely. The majority of these idiot FB people burning their jerseys and claiming boycott will be right back at the bar or on their couch watching on Sunday.

I wonder why it is so important for certain people to be so adamant that this thing will not have a significant impact on the business side of the NFL.

For the record, I'm not being adamant that it WILL. I'm just curious about this particular perspective.

Yeah. You might want to pop over to the thread about the Unknown soldier. The exposure you think he is getting isn't about his cause. It's becoming a disrespectful un-Ameican movement.

Now you just have to decide whether Trump is a leader or entertainer.

because they do care about social issues

I'm going to go ahead and disagree with this. If they actually cared about social issues, they would address actual social issues.

This started with Kap who wanted out of his contract and didn't get his way so he started throwing fits.

Others followed suit supporting Kap, but not really knowing WTF they were supporting.

Trump interjected.

Players began protesting Trump.

In doing so, they pissed off their fan base. A little wrinkle they did not consider or, at the very least, had no idea how badly they would piss off their fan base. So, now, they can continue protesting Trump or realize that the people who fund the NFL would like them to get back to playing football.

Pretty sure that right now he is the President of the United States. One who is sometimes entertaining.

You've been really asshurt lately. Like I get that it's your thing to be a contrarian here, which is easy given the rampant Trump praise here, but you've really been acting like a bitch these past few weeks.

Is everything ok? Are you lonely?

I don't think I'm being adamant, I'm just being realistic. Status Quo will ultimately win in the end on social issues.

I've been to that thread. I won't comment until this guy actually says he is doing it for that reason. Even still, idiots are idiots.

No, that was semen, and we know that now because evidence made it so.

Regardless, I called him an idiot in the same post, so, yeah.

You have to accept that, to many, Trump himself is the biggest threat to social justice the country faces. You don't have to agree with that assessment, you just have to accept it as a valid position.

I don't accept it as a valid position.

But I didn't accept Obama coming for my guns as a valid position either.

The NFL may want to listen to Trump, from a business perspective.

You are just pissed because Trump is POTUS

quote:

Pissed? No. Embarrassed? Yeah.

Yeah, embarrassed that you and the other sore loser lefties made fools of yourselves when y'all bragged two weeks before the election that the election was over and Hillary was going to win in a landslide.

quote:

You simply don't like any style of governing that President Trump uses

quote:

So far, this is true. Maybe I'm weird, but I just don't like for a POTUS to call for private citizens to be fired.

Meh, you won't like anything President Trump says or does.

The presidency has always been a bully pulpit for the POTUS to tell everyone whatever the POTUS wants to tell everyone is the right way for everyone to act and telling people to show respect for the US flag is not unusual for a POTUS to do.

Don't act like Trump is the only POTUS ever to use the presidency as a bully pulpit.

Geez, I can just imagine what we would be being told by Hillary right now if she won the presidency.

I'm not married so your insult is meaningless.

quote:

I'm not surprised. It's very likely that you are gay,

So, according to you, because I didn't find a woman who I wanted to marry that makes me "very likely" a homosexual.

According to me, that makes me a smart heterosexual man.

After all, there are a lot of dumb heterosexual men who got stuck marrying the woman who is the mother of his child but who doesn't love him.

quote:

But I know you'd still love to suck Trump's dick.

You are the one who is infatuated with Trump's dick since you are the one who mentioned it.

quote:

So you and they are just for the democratic process as long as your guy/gal wins.

quote:

How the frick do you get that from what I said? Protesting shite is as American as it gets. A protest kickstarted the creation of this country.

Protesting that the "wrong" candidate won the presidency is as un-American as you can get.

quote:

Trump doesn't give a frick about social issues, so they protest Trump because they do care about social issues. It really doesn't surprise me at this point that you can't follow simple logic like that.

Meh, you don't get to speak for President Trump since you hate President Trump and will lie about his true character every chance you get.

frick off, a-hole. The discussion is over. My guy won and your gal lost.

Hopefully, You'll have to live with Trump as POTUS for as many years as I had to live with Obama as POTUS.

Not only is it an invalid position, it is an insane position.

In other words, you are fricking insane if you believe President Trump is the biggest threat to social justice the country faces.

This statement doesn't make any sense. It's an opinion, not a fact. I could say that grapes are the best fruit. You can disagree, but that doesn't make it invalid.

Not sure what you're getting at here.
