Only at LSU would fans be calling for 2nd string QB that was outplayed by the starter...

Brennan is the future but Saturday he had one INT and almost a 2nd one in limited action. He's not quite ready imo. After we lose a couple more games I would still hand the reins over to him though and get him ready for next year.

Ettling isn't an all-american but his QB rating Saturday was 190.5 to Brennan's 138.3. We're still playing for something atm, Ettling should remain the starter until we're not.

You have two video games.

Youve beaten one alot. Used to it. It never gets any better.

Brennan is like the DLC expansion pack . he brings new shite to the table

QB wasn't the problem last game and anyone who thinks it was wasn't paying attention.

The OL was atrocious. Advocate's article says it all, LSU QBs were pressured on 14 of 25 drop backs...MORE THAN 50% of the time our QBs were under pressure quickly.

Both Etling and Brennan played well considering the amount of pressure they were under. INT was not Brennan's fault at all.

We are starting to sound like Alabama pre Saban.... "Yeah, just wait until we get Andrew Zow in" "yeah, just wait until Brodie Croyle starts playing"

That int was not all on him the receiver didn’t run through his route. However, I can see why most want him to start because it’s a non sec opponent and he sees the field better than Danny does on a lot of plays where most think Danny would have took a sack.

Not only at LSU.

Also, when we have an actual good QB we won't be calling for the backup.

It gets old hearing how we will always call for the backup. Shut up. We were content with Mett.

A&m is in quite a similar situation.. but they went with the true freshman qb to start the season.. over the mediocre Senior I believe. He looked like straight trash the first two games.. but he has improved tremendously with experience over the past 2 games.

Etling is extremely limited.

I look forward to the day LSU can have a QB throw an INT or even 2 and it still be okay because he throws for 3-4 TDs in a game.

Brennan will get better the more experience. He didn't have an INT on the almost so forget it.. and the other was faulted on the WR route.. Brennan came out with limited experience and the offense marched the field for a score. Imagine how much better he will be with more experience. Now is the time, versus Syracuse and Troy..

Did you happen to see Etling when we faced great defenses? We will need to get the ball out quick. He seems to hold it a bit long. It's whatever though.

Waiting for the Davis said he ran the wrong route comment. Even if he did run wrong route, the pass should have never been thrown.

I will say I was impressed with Brennan, especially his reads.

I've also been impressed, albeit to a lesser degree, with Etling. My biggest complaint is his reads and hesitation.

Brennen was not impressive enough to displace Etling... yet.

Agree with you, start Etling. Keep putting Brennen in on NON-mop up duty running a full offense every game.

The idea of not putting Brennen in behind this OL is bullshite. OL is not getting fixed any time soon, Etling could be injured at any moment, we play in a division with AU and Gumps, our permanent E is UF. You will see pressure as the LSU QB. Might as well learn how to handle it.

Davis contributed to the INT. An experienced QB still doesn't make that mistake. An experienced WR doesn't put him in the position to make the mistake.

if this was a team that was going to contend for a championship, sure stick it out with etling. I think we can all agree that is not happening this season, I would rather take my lumps with Brennan over danny and his total lack of any upside.

Etling put up a whopping zero points on Alabama.. at home.. even Harris on the road had a nice TD pass.

Etling’d 2 td passes against Syracuse were very nice, but not anything Brennan couldn’t do with the same receivers running free like that. I’d love to get Brennan sec experience now rather than be breaking him in a season from now.

Many people wanted the UF game at home last season because they said we were still playing for something. Thst was so stupid to me and wound up a very bad deal for us. We lost and now have to go there two straight.

It wil alll work out. As some have stated we may need both. Etling has taken some shots.

Technically we are by the numbers, but do you have any confidence that we can beat Bama and take the West?

Bama beats us by 40 if we played tomorrow

to be fair, very few LSU fans were still around to see Brennan play. They still view him as a mystery and are intrigued. They want him to start so they can actually see him play before leaving prior to half

I'll never understand why our fan-base insists that the #2 on the depth chart should be starting over #1. I got into an argument after they put Brennan in bc I thought it was a stupid move. If we were up by 3-4 TDs, whatever.. I don't care at that point, but they almost let that game slip away from them pulling that shite way too early.

Etling should keep the reins but I think the idea of letting Brennan play when there's some pressure to it. It's trial by fire, but with a small safety net. This kid has a skill set that LSU hasnt seen in a LONG time. His development is crucial. FWIW, I think Matt Canada's biggest accomplishment will be developing Brennan into a legit, well-rounded QB, but only time will tell.

Im not a fan of starting a frosh over a 5th year senior but that said

1. The int was a WR misread

2. Brennan gets rid of the ball faster due to a much faster release.

That helps out the struggling line a lot and does give this offense more flexibility.

I would be ok with starting him vs Troy and see what happens.

He threw 6 passes and should ve had two picks. It is like we are taking crazy pills.

Etling was running for his life and Tiger fans cant appreciate anything.

Again, many fans think we’ll lose 4 or more games. To those fans this season doesn’t matter. Since it doesn’t matter, get Brennan as much experience as possible.

But you don’t play hypothetically. Now we lose next 4 in a row, this arguement is more valid. The argument then is with our current OL let’s let Danny take the lumps and keep Brennan healthy for next year.
