When it's the President of the USA, that's a big deal. I knew Trump had a big ego and uses Twitter too much but was surprised that his words were as divisive as they were. I expected him to be somewhat divisive but not 'Yugely Divisive' like they were.

He knows what he is doing in this situation. Which in a way makes him the smartest person in the room.

These people don't actually want to be together. They have no clue what they actually want.

Nothing Trump could say will ever be accepted by them.

None of this matters about what I said about Trump, he's intentionally dividing people.

Again, it doesn't have to be one or the other, it can be both.

Trump knows his presidency looks like an unorganized disaster. His entire staff has been replaced less than a year in, there's no healthcare reform, the wall is clearly never being built, lower middle class plant workers are realizing automation cost them their jobs not liberal economic policies, he's been such an embarrassment that his closest allies have been visibly annoyed...it's the Ed Orgeron regime of presidencies.

All he knows how to do well is manipulate the media and the unthinking, unwashed, sheep on both sides of the aisle. This issue is perfect for him to galvanize his support base and further increase division, so his incompetency will be overlooked in favor of just hating those goddamn liberal anti-troop thugs

Trump has not accomplished one thing. Mitch made Gorsuch possible, over 2 years.

When your biggest accomplishment is that NK has not nuked Guam yet, you suck. Bigly.
No tax reform.
No improved health care.
No reduction in costs of drugs.
No infrastructure bill.

Bombast is all.
There is
No there there.

Not really. The ratings have been falling ever since Kap started kneeling.

Now, however, everyone says "It has nothing to do with Kap!!cord cutting!!!"
And just like I predicted Go look at the sunday night thread. Ratings are down, and right away it is people coming up with reasons besides the protests

"President should not be telling the Washington Redskins to change their name-our country has far bigger problems! FOCUS on them, not nonsense," Trump tweeted on October 8, 2013.

He also tweeted this in January

Peaceful protests are a hallmark of our democracy. Even if I don't always agree, I recognize the rights of people to express their views.

operative terms here: SHOULD and MAY not SHALL and WILL therefore not mandated however doesn't expressly prohibit coaches, executives, owners or even the Commissioner from imposing penalties for failure to comply. Essentially, those in authority possess this punitive authority to execute but it isn't a Take Care clause mandate.

Two completely differing situations. One is a private company being told what to do. One is something that is a value to a ton of people and in part is against a representation of the country.

Both are private companies being told what they should or shouldn't do. In fact, this time it's 32 private companies.

This doesn't somehow negate that they are private companies.

What'd you think he was gonna say? He's the Captain of the Patriots that consist of many black players that disagree with Trump or may have been affected or known people affected by the pertinent issue. He followed the company line and didn't want to rock the boat to the detriment to the Patriots collective and their pursuit of dominance and championships. The entire galaxy knows of his relationship with President Trump and he didn't want to create a distraction. The Patriots are an organization that thrives on limiting or eliminating distractions so his response/statement was entirely proper, professional, and appropriate.

Thats complete nonsense, its the same, both are private companies being pressured by a political figure.
If its pressuring the redskins to change their name or pressuring owners to fire players over the anthem. Its the same and shouldnt be done.

Only Congress possesses the Constitutional power to fulfill these mandates, all President Trump can do is sign them into law or veto them

And he doesn't have the Constitutional power to fulfill some mandate to ban kneeling during the national anthem.

Actually it really is 2 different arguments

That they are public companies does not change it is two separate arguments. But people were going to jump Trump and Obama no matter what.
