New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady directly addressed remarks by President Donald Trump on Monday morning, saying, "I certainly disagree with what he said. I thought it was just divisive."

During his radio interview Monday, Brady was asked if he thought Trump had bigger things to worry about than whether a player kneels during the national anthem. After saying he disagreed with Trump's remarks, Brady added, "I just want to support my teammates. I'm never one that says, 'Oh, that's wrong or that's right.' But I do believe in what I believe in, and I believe in bringing people together and respect and love and trust. Those are the values that my parents instilled in me and that's how I try to live every day.

"I've been blessed to be in a locker room with guys from all over the United States over the course of my career. Some of my great friends are from Florida, Virginia, New York, Montana, Colorado, Texas. I think one thing about football is that it brings so many guys together, guys that you would never have the opportunity to be around, whether it was in college and all the way into the pros. We're all different. We're all unique. That's what makes us all so special."

Brady was asked if he had ever had conversations with teammates who had questions about his friendship with Trump, and he said that has not happened.

Divisive is the new term of the week. Nothing more divisive than a group of millionaires shitting on a Country that men and woman died for.

The specific rule pertaining to the national anthem is found on pages A62-63 of the league rulebook. It states:
“The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem.
“During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.”

Pretty much this. It's simple respect. If you can't do that, then don't get paid millions of dollars to play a game.

That's not real. There's no rule in the NFL about the National Anthem

Why can't Trumps comments and kneeling both be divisive things?

One is by "people who play a game" and one was the President calling them sons of bitches.

Both are divisive, but one is bigger than the other.

Brady is entitled to his opinion. But at least he stood with his hand on his heart during the anthem.

These things can only go one way. Whatever is bad for the white male is the only way it can go. You should know this already.

Which one are you saying is bigger than the other? Because I would say the leader of the free world trying to involve himself in private business is a pretty big deal, no? I don't agree with the kneeling either but Trump needs to stick to trying to fulfill promises regarding policies he made during the campaign and stay out of the social wars IMO, all it does is divide just as much as Obama did.

Non-violent protest is now shitting on a country?

I thought men and women died so that we could have freedom to peacefully protest.

I'm not sure why this is so difficult to understand.

The president calling peaceful protesters sons of bitches is going to be major story, and rightfully so.
