The current TAF model is in big trouble.

People aren't going to keep paying out of the wazoo for 8-4 football. The fleecing of the fans is about to end, IMO. The symptoms are already creeping out. For example, the season ticket waitlist has been exhausted. Not many people know this because the AD didn't publicize it, but season tickets were available to the general public (brand new holders, no donations required) this year. The link was available for just a few days, but it was there on the website.

Tons of liabilities to fund with revenue that is definitely on shaky ground.

Interesting times.

Its the scheduling not the record that will keep them away.

with the shite sandwiches they've been forcing down our throats for the NC slate, I've seen lots of people that have elected to longer waste their money on season tickets. They just assume watch it from home and flip around to more entertaining games.

They'll keep adding ads to the fence around the field to make up for it. Soon it'll look like The Box.

Probably shouldn't have fired Miles without a guaranteed, homerun hire already in hand, then.

Miles actually never led an 8-4 season. He had 2 8-5s and 2 9-3s (out of 11 seasons). For full seasons, Miles averaged right about a 11-3.

I agree the time had come, but you just don't fire a coach like that with a half-baked replacement plan and a cat like Joe Alleva at the head of it.

Unless you want O. What am I missing?

the people in charge of the program are either incompetent or corrupt. Take your pick.

As a TAF member who tends to donate more than just my season ticket dues, I can assure you that my "extra" money will start to dwindle if this shite show isn't fixed soon. The other members I know, some whom donate a substantial amount more than me, are beginning to trend that way as well.

Alleva is a problem. And that sentiment is starting to flow through TAF like wild fire.

I have 4 season tickets in the NEZ and a parking pass. I have been to at least 2 away games every year for the last 7 years including Lambeau last year and going to TN this year. We spend a ton of money on Football. If things don't start looking up there are going to be a bunch of people like me start putting that money to better uses. It's entertainment. First time I can remember I didn't take this loss hard. In years past I wouldn't have been able to sleep Saturday night.

Your model is broken when you can to the game cheaper than it cost to park. I saw a story on the Sunday night game where Authur Blank mandated that concessions be affordable for everyone 2 dollar cokes, 2 hot dogs and popcorn. That is how you keep fans in seats. 7 dollars for a damn coke or 6 bucks for water is criminal imo

I think there is a problem with the model. For many fans the math just doesn't work out. When you consider the huge amounts of money it takes to get decent seats...or to change to decent seats....you could buy great seats to any games you want to attend online and likely still come out way ahead. Same goes for post season...way cheaper to get really good seats online than pay thousands in donations to get a pair of nosebleed seats behind a pillar from TAF.

I think it has more to do with the game day experience more than anything. The endless increasing of fees, more and more paid parking etc. Its ridiculous!

They should have never done the last expansion.

There were a shitton of season tickets for sale before the season started. Next year will be a blood bath for season ticket renewals.

And yes, the game day experience and crappy schedule is a deal breaker.

In the long run this will be a good thing, but it will take a while. Ultimately losing money gets rid of those in control.

A new AD coming in will get rid of all this paid parking and exorbitant fee nonsense in order to get fans back in who are going to be disenfranchised soon after we go 14-12 over the next two seasons.

Pressure from Miles' buyout and Orgeron's buyout will ensure boosters spend the time and the money to get the next hire right.

After we get gashed on the lines time after time the new Head Coach will emphasize recruiting in the trenches.

Will Wade will make basketball a profit generator again to ease a little pressure off the football program.

its just not worth it to my wife and i to try to find someone to watch our young kids, fight traffic on the way to and from the game, pay to park, and pay out the arse for concessions

I'll be attending Troy (to bring my 4 year old to his first game), Auburn, and maybe aTm.

Otherwise I've gotten to the point where its not worth the hassle when I can just have friends over while smoking a brisket and watch it on a 60 inch flat screen

There's still no feeling like being IN Tiger Stadium, but there is a weighing that must occur and that feeling alone just isnt enough anymore to make me want to deal with all the other BS

This happens when you keep adding seats to a stadium that's already too big. Need to remove seats by putting chair backs everywhere and get the capacity down to 90,000

A large part of that was people fed up with the Miles style and his refusal to adapt. People just weren't going to put money into it.

With O, you didn't generate really any legitimate faith from the fanbase which probably turned off some more fans that saw how inept Alleva is at his job.

Finally, this is how it is as of now, and will likely only get worse if LSU loses a few more games with any in a similar to fashion to MSU. If that happens, firing O will be the least of LSU/TAF's worries, because they'll lose more money than that $12 Million by keeping him if it comes to that.
