no rantards were the ones supporting the hiring of O

This team may go 6-6 this year... that's bad enough, however a 6-6 record with all of those losses looking like they did Saturday night, then I am all for getting rid of him....
agreed

you give Miles 11 years you have to give any new HC 3 years.

2 sec titles

1 national title
#1 win % in program history
thats why miles got the extra rope.

Ummmm...no comment!
What effect would back-to-back losses to Cuse/Troy have on the current state of the program?

i honestly cannot believe this is being talked about after THREE games

Then who do you think is going to be stupid enough to coach at LSU? Only someone at least as intelligent as you obviously are would be stupid enough to agree to work for LSU,which means that the team would also be horrible.

Assuming you are a true LSU fan you only hurt your team and recruiting by doing that.

Correct....three year contract is a fairly short leash in the first place, or sure seems like it.
True. But the "poison pill" is the buyout. LSU is already paying Miles a large sum "not to coach". If they fired O after one season then they would be paying two coaches significant money "not to coach". That's on top of having to pay the new HC a significant amount TO coach. Eventually, you run out of money paying 3 guys for one job (two of which wouldn't be doing that job anymore).
Like it or not, once O was hired LSU was stuck with him for at least 2 seasons. We can debate all we want whether or not he should have been hired in the first place and if, based upon past history, Sat. night will become the norm, not the exception. But I think the realities are what they are. So there is no reason to think he will be fired after this season.
The first thing LSU needs to do is find themselves a new AD. Sorry, but no one really gives a shite how good the gymnastics, volleyball or golf teams are. Football, basketball, and at LSU, baseball, drive the boat. Alleva's first two basketball hires crashed and burned. He botched a coup to fire Miles in 2015 and then made a Johnny Jones type hire on the football side.
In a very small sample size Wade looks promising. But the lack of passion about LSU basketball has given Joe somewhat of an opportunity to frick up two hires there. Football is a different animal. He doesn't get the leeway to swing and miss like he's done in basketball.

Meh - you want me to admit there was no search and that once spurned by Fisher, Alleva got pissy with Herman and just hired O to get it over with? Hell, that's absolutely what happened.
Don't blame the fans (positive or negative) for that. Blame Alleva for not firing Miles once the decision had been made in 2015. We would be one year closer to something different. O was clearly a high risk move for Alleva. It may yet pay off, although that obviously doesn't look promising today.
(It is still one game, after all. It was pre-Rant, but the same folks wanted to fire Saban after UAB. And Bama in 2002. And Miles after Tennessee in 2005, and Miles after both losses in 2007, and ... (you get the picture)).
If the gamble doesn't pay off, I think FKing and Alleva will be replaced before we actually replace the football HC.
Just from where I sit.

I'm trying to find an example of a HC at a power 5 that didn't get at least two years. Any examples?
Posted on 9/18/17 at 11:22 am to LSU Red24
It's not surprising.at all. Orgeron was a very shaky hire in the first place. He had 0 success as a true HC. If you were paying attention to the coaching search debacle you will see that a good bit of fans were outraged when O got the job. People were hoping would prove them wrong but it's already looking like lsu is screwed for a while.

So basically Tennessee. Which fans warned could happen when you run off national title winning coaches.

It's not realistic at all right now. It could have been just one bad game; or State could be a great team this year. If that level of play continues and we end up the worst in the west, then you seriously consider another change.

Most Miles butt lickers on the rant were totally against hiring coach O. However, the news media published state-wide polls that showed overwhelming support among the State's citizens for hiring coach O and in fact that is one of the biggest reasons he was hired.

First, Coach O isn't going to get fired his first year esp. with a hugh buyout.
Second, if anything else, Aleva learned you don't fire the head coach unless you've got someone better and are able to sign him.

No one had him tabbed as 1-4th choice. But supporting decision is all you can do or go root for another team. Its to early to be getting all crazy about firing it is what it is. And I hope he turns it around and proves everyone wrong. But seriously this is over the top to be talking firing it's just detrimental to anything unless your gunning to be miserable and rooting against LSU. Go tigers and hope this turns around fast and next year we talking about how funny this was and how miss state ran the table and won cfp lol... maybe?

I promise you I was paying more attention than most. My profession calls for it.
Point is, if LSU would have won 50-0, you wouldn't crown them. They lost by 30, don't crucify them. Does O deserve criticisms? No doubt. Calling for his head after three games? Pump the damn brakes.

I don't think it is realistic, you are correct. I also have known since the day we hired him that we would be firing him pretty quickly. I really was hoping to be wrong, and I still may be But you don't get beat like that by sheer luck.
We will not fire him until after next year though.

So according to this rantard the entire reason the LSU football team lost Saturday night is because LSU made the idiotic mistake of firing the greatest coach of all time. Then followed it up by hiring the most incompetent coach of all time. Meanwhile, poor recruiting of players that play in the trenches by the greatest football coach of all time has nothing to do with anything.
