If you fire Miles for 4 loss seasons then why would you tolerate it from his replacement for 3 seasons who doesn't have 1/10th of the resume as Miles.

Financially it's just no realistic. LSU is still saddled with a massive buyout on the LM contract. I still believe Coach O can turn this thing around. Even Nick Saban experienced a bumpy road when he took over at LSU. Dan Mullen at Mississippi State too.

I say....give it time.

An analogy. If I start a round of golf on a par 4 hole and shoot a 9 do I walk off the course and never play again?
No, but if I shoot 9 on each of the next 17 holes, then yes, I give up golf.

It's just one game, folks. If the rest of the season goes like that game then we talk about firing the coach.

So according to this rantard the entire reason the LSU football team lost Saturday night is because LSU made the idiotic mistake of firing the greatest coach of all time. Then followed it up by hiring the most incompetent coach of all time. Meanwhile, poor recruiting of players that play in the trenches by the greatest football coach of all time has nothing to do with anything.

compared to ed oregron, les miles is Nick saban. deal with it.

miles has as many west titles as your god has career sec wins.

no one thinks Miles is the greatest coach.

Seek mental help you ignoramus. By the way, you retard, your arch nemesis coach O has said he will have to go the junior college route to try to find new lineman fast. Obviously, LSU waited too long to fire your idol.

I'll bet my life he doesn't have 3 years if we keep seeing what we saw Saturday night.

He won't make it 2 full years if that continues.

I think a lot of his future has to do with the epic homegrown talent in the 2019 recruiting class.

If we manage a top 2 finish there he'll buy some time. If we finish 8-4 (especially with the penalties) for the next two years and finish outside the top 10 (class ranking) in 2019.. He'll be gone.

Then who do you think is going to be stupid enough to coach at LSU? Only someone at least as intelligent as you obviously are would be stupid enough to agree to work for LSU,which means that the team would also be horrible.

First of all O's peers don't even respect him.

Remember the Athlon piece of anonymous quotes about other coaches from SEC coaches? The two things said about O is "he's going to do a good job of letting his coaches coach" and "he's learned to not get in the coordinators way so he can be the rah-rah guy." They imitate him on national TV. They may like him, but they don't respect him as a peer.

I say all of that to say, no one will have a problem coming after Orgeron. He's going to be so horrible that 9 wins will be seen as an accomplishment again. It's the perfect situation to come in to actually.

Everybody is underestimating Alleva. Coach O will go 6-6 or 7-5 and Joe will give him a nice raise and extension.

It's way too early to start thinking about firing Orgeron. In my opinion, he should be given at least one year, although I do understand some of the posters way of thinking that are already calling for his head.

If the team doesn't make a bowl game this year, any bowl game, I feel he should be canned. The team looked more energized last year after he took over but there's examples of that happening to a lot of teams over the years. And I know a lot of fans went on and on about how well the team played and put their opponents away after Miles was fired, but in my opinion, the games that O won, Miles would have won as well.

And as far as this year is concerned, I thought the team looked really good against BYU. There was some sloppy play, but it was the first game, and it was with a different offensive philosophy. However, this years BYU team appears to be one of their worst teams in a long time. I didn't get a change to watch to watch the Chattanooga game, so I'm not sure how well they looked during the game, but I wasn't impressed by the final score. By that I mean that a Les Miles team, that most on here have complained about, could have easily put up the same numbers.

Last Saturdays beat down is disturbing and it's frightening as how prepared this team has looked so far this season compared to the opponents we have faced. Penalities, sloppy play and suspensions are all reflections of the coaching staff. And if that continues to be an issue throughout the season, I feel he should be replaced before we spiral out of control.

They're not firing him. But we can damn sure talk about how she should have never been hired in the first place.

With his buyout and financial obligations- the seat will start to get hot at the end of year 2 but unfortunately not before then

In Les's first 3 years:

05 - 11-2 , West Champions and roped Miami by 40 in the peach bowl
06- 11-2, Best the hell out of Norte Dame in the Sugar Bowl
07- 12-2, Won the whole fuching thing

Don't give me this bullshite that Les was trash and we should give anyone else 3 years. The dude was 34-6 overall, Won the west twice, SEC overall once and the national title.

O is now 3-1 as the head coach and suffered the worst loss to State in LSU history. He hasn't earned jack shite.

This is where you show your ignorance. Orgeron was hired in January of 2015 by Miles and was Frank Wilsons "right hand man", who was the recruiting coordinator at that time. When Wilson took the head coaching job at UTSA in 2016, Orgeron was promoted to fill the recruiting coordinators position.

So you can piss and moan all you want about the shitty recruiting of linemen by Miles the past few years, but don't forget that Ed Orgeron was knee deep in the recruiting process as the right hand man to the recruiting coordinator during the 15 season and was named the recruiting coordinator for the 16 season, before becoming the head coach 4 games into the 2016 season.

So, indeed, Ed Orgeron is just as much responsible for the recruiting of the last couple of classes as Les Miles is, good or bad.

Very unrealistic. It's one game, a blowout, but still. He still has time to get it together. But if they don't put a nice beatdown on Syracuse, then it's time to panic.
