What a shock from liberal ESPN.
Can't be allowing Evil Ol' Whitey to talk out of turn.

Can't be allowing Evil Ol' Whitey to talk out of turn.
quote:
Last night Outkick broke the news that Linda Cohn, one of the most respected women to ever work at ESPN and the person who has hosted more SportsCenters over the past 25 years than any other current employee, was called and told by ESPN president John Skipper not to come to work after she went on the radio in New York City and said as follows:
“They definitely overpaid for many of these products, whether it’s the NBA or starting up networks like the Pac-12 Network and SEC Network,” she said on WABC’s “Bernie and Sid Show.” “It’s well documented … They [also] did not see that they would lose all these subscribers [to competitors like Netflix.]
But it was more than just that. Politics played a part, as did the network’s move away from strictly covering sports.
I felt that the old school viewers were put in a corner and not appreciated with all these other changes. And they forgot their core. You can never forget your core and be grateful for your core group.”

Well because one dared tell the truth.

To be fair calling out your own employer's strategy in public is grounds for dismissal.

If I call my boss out in public there are going to be consequences.
Your point is lost here.

I despise ESPN but maybe she should learn to shut her mouth. She went on a 3rd party show to criticize her employer and got called on the carpet.

Curt Schilling is a better example.
I can't criticize my employer in a public forum.

She's dumb enough to think she got away with it and will raise the bar next time where they will fire her.

Well, you can literally prove everything Linda said with facts and figures. So, the appropriate response is punishment.
Jemele lives in a fantasy land of feelings and emotions and moral superiority. She gets to stay.

"Why was Cohn to stay at home? So, according to an irate John Skipper, she could have time to think about what she had said."
She should have spent the whole time on the phone with her agent. Linda Cohn can literally write her own ticket. There is probably no more respected woman in sports media.

ESPN promotes athletes for protesting on the NFL owner's dime, but gets upset when one of their own speaks their mind on another outlet.
I can certainly understand why, but Kapernick can't be a hero and Cohn wrong if you are consistent.
The fact is that everyone is accountable to their employers and not just the ones that criticize ESPN.

If I were Linda, I'd be busting out that anti Semitism card about right now.

Y'all can stop with, "she was canned for calling out ESPN's poor business decisions". That was the convenient part of her interview that allowed ESPN to suspend the woman. I can guarantee ya if she leaves out the political part of her interview she probably gets called into the boss's office and told to be careful with the corporate criticism.
This is further proof of just how deep the rot of progressivism truly is. I don't know how much time we have left before this country plunges into the abyss of progressive psychosis but we're definitely on our collective toes teetering on the edge. God help us.
