What is the point here?

Your apology thread was "wrong about team".

This thread was bashing Mr. Benson to no end. Which i'm sure you'll go back to doing as soon as the team hits a rough patch like 97% of the organizations in the NFL do but ours is super special because it's all the old man's fault cause he's so old.

It wasn't a mistake. We were 0-2 and got throttled in both games and had the worst Defense in the league.

That was after 7-9 for 3 straight years.

Anyone who says they saw this coming is lying their arse off.

I'm very glad to be wrong though.

Actually it was a mistake and we were 0-1 when you posted this.

Are we asserting the season turnaround is now because of our great ownership?

Everyone on this board was expecting another mediocre season after starting 0-2

Once they got to 3-2 and finally over the .500 hump is when we realized this was different. I’ve never seen shite like this. A complete 180, going from worst defense in the league after 2 games to a top 5 defense.

I don't think there were too many people at 0-2 after 3 7-9 seasons that were jumping up and down and saying we will survive this season.

That two week period you can bump all of us.

I do think these bumps are funny anyway.

You're a dumb frick.

Benson is old and not cognizant anymore. That IS a problem, whether you like it or not.

That is not bashing. That is reality. When you effectively don't have an owner, that is always a problem. Luckily Payton/Loomis/Ireland were strong enough to overcome that.

IF you look at all my threads all offseason they were all positive. LOVED the coaching changes, loved the draft, loved Free Agency.

And that's a fact.

After 7-9, 7-9, 7-9, 0-2 and the absolute disgraceful display in the first two games, anyone blaming me for this thread is completely disingenuous.

Or 0-1. I don't care. The point is the same. We got killed in game 1 and looked awful.

With no accountability, this team will never be the same again. And the Catch 22 is...without Benson, we may not even have a team. So its a pretty depressing outlook.

Knock it off with your negative waves man...

Yes. That is what Chad is trying to infer.

He has this weird obsession with defending Benson and Loomis on both this and the Saints board.

The reality is that there is nothing to defend: Benson isn't the owner anymore, effectively. He simply is not cognizant anymore, and that happens to all of us. It is a situation we should ALL be concerned over, regardless of the team's winning right now.

Strong ownership is GENERALLY a good thing.

Is it? Looks like he's doing about as effective of a job of owning as he ever has with this 7 and soon to be 8 game winning streak. He's done an exemplary job of putting together one of the finest front office staffs from top to bottom. From President down to assistant secondary coach. We have rebuilt this entire team without going a season without completely non-competitive.

You've been a complete dick head to the ownership and you have no idea of Gayle's involvement, her decision making, influence of Mr. Benson's thoughts etc as well.

Benson has almost nothing to do with any of this anymore. Thank Dennis Lauscha.

I do not know what Gayle's role is, but many media people have commented that she is not involved in the day to day of either team.

Its all Lauscha/Loomis.

And they SHOULD have taken heat.

Their NBA franchise had an all world player and made the playoffs once, has kept the same GM that has failed time and time again for 7 years, fired a coach that went to the playoffs and hired a bum with one winning season with 800 games coached.

Their NFL franchise had gone 7-9 in what? 4 of the last 5 years and started 0-2 again.

Congrats on being a blind homer, but these were problems.

I agree with that. The timing of it was wrong, but the general point is valid.

Yup. So does everyone.

I know Chad doesn't want me bumping some of his threads.

Like when he thought we should drop a nuclear bomb into a hurricane because it would dissipate it.
