Benson has almost nothing to do with any of this anymore. Thank Dennis Lauscha.

Who hired Dennis? Don't most NFL Teams have a Dennis Lauscha type president in place?

you blatantly and ignorantly just started babbling that there's no accountability in the saints organization. I've seen plenty of accountability.

Their NFL franchise had gone 7-9 in what? 4 of the last 5 years and started 0-2 again.

It was a rebuild, tough stretch, some tough injury years, some weird player misfortunes and yes it was time for them to get them back on track. But you pinned all of this on Mr. Benson's lack of competence and inability to hold people accountable while he chokes on jelly beans drooling.

Like I care man. I was wrong about the Saints.

Dead wrong. I posted several threads saying how wrong I was and took a beating and I'm still here.

The Benson bashing has to stop and that's my problem. He's old as frick but he's got competent people in place. We're about as professionally run organization as there is in the NFL.

I should have used better words when talking about Benson. Both of my grandparents on my father's side have had dementia and faded away, and its awful. I shouldn't have used those words.

In the future I will be more thoughtful in expressing my concerns about the ownership situation.

Which I am very concerned about. It is just reality.

Very mature of you.

But....

I think our future in the organization is just as bright as any other team. Don't be such a pessimist. Benson hasn't been making many football decisions for the past 20 years and its been our best stretch yet. He's been extremely professional and i think his example has trickled down throughout the entire organization. Don't be so naive on his lack of influence throughout the saints.

I don't want an owner that meddles and makes "football decisions".

But you do want an owner that is capable of making hard choices if things aren't going well.

You want someone to hold people accountable. You can't have the inmates running the asylum.

The Saints side has turned things around.

Its still beyond absurd that Loomis is the President of Basketball Operations of the Pels, but I digress.

Mr. Benson has never not held people accountable. There have never been inmates running this asylum.

He is not capable of holding anyone accountable anymore. Lauscha is, but I would classify him as "inmate".

Regardless, it is completely irrelevant as things currently stand.

We'll see how it goes in the future.

It wasn't a mistake. We were 0-2 and got throttled in both games and had the worst Defense in the league.

That was after 7-9 for 3 straight years.

Anyone who says they saw this coming is lying their arse off.

I'm very glad to be wrong though.

I was thinking the same thing today. I had confidence we would make a run BEFORE the season started but after 0-2 I was depressed as shite. I thought it was over. I mean, it wasn't like we were losing close games. We got handled both games.
