The look of the leper was awesome.

The beginning of the movie with poor Georgie was savage. They don't show that shite on ABC.

That's an odd thing to be upset about. The opening comment you made was you did not like that it said "chapter 1" at the end?
A legit critism would be the end of BTTF2 for sure, but that was just to remind us, that we only got half the story.

No kidding.... What a weird thing to dislike.

Went to see it this afternoon. I was really pleased. It had a perfect vibe between a coming of age comedy/drama mixed with classic horror. Like a way more intense Monster Squad or Ernest Scared Stupid. Stand By Me meets Nightmare on Elm Street. I think this going to end up being a must-watch every Halloween season. My only regret was that I wished I would have waited to go see it on a Sunday afternoon that the Saints were playing, to cut down on the triple XL jersey types that didn't have anything to do today but try to make jokes and obnoxious screams during the jump-scares.

And I'm not sure how in the hell they would go about bringing Henry Bowers back, but just for shite's and giggles let's say Jackie Earle Haley

Charlie day needs to be Richie

Does the book explain why IT needs fear to hurt the Losers, but no one else. He was able to kill hundreds of people in those news clippings over the years and Georgie pretty easily. Seems he could have offed the Losers just as easily had he wanted to. Was he just playing with them?

It was tenderizing the meat. I think it could kill pretty much when it wanted to, but the fear fed the cosmic aspect of the monster. That's why it also targeted kids since adults are afraid of more abstract things like economic failure whereas kids fears could be physically manifested more easily.
Though I still would have been scared shitless if I had seen any of those things.

Also I never noticed this before but when Henry carved the H on Ben's chest, he kind of overextended the cut on the right side. H=It
Clever bastard that Stephen King.

What fantastic movie it had a little bit of everything.
My only complaint was the morons screaming and talking during the movie. I wanted to ask this stupid bitch if she gets out often

The part that got me the most, even to where my wife called me out, was the projector scene. When he just appeared.
Wow.
It was the stuff of nightmares.

So much this. I rarely go see movies on the weekend they open and made an exception this time. JESUS. People in the row behind me were having a full damn conversation during the movie and they weren't even TRYING to whisper. The only thing worse was the people who screamed during the more "mundane" moments like the first time we saw Pennywise (you know, the scene that was in the original AND the trailer and that we all knew was coming).

quote:I take it you don't see many horror movies in the theater. Audiences will often laugh after being scared by a jump scare. It's part of the fun. I know I do it all the time.
The theater was laughing when they were supposed to be scared

I was curious about the kids, but I assume they are long dead.

saw it this weekend. it was okay, but nothing great. the kids were all awesome, especially Beverly and the "gazebo" kid well-made in most areas. loved the setting. the only bad actor was Bill's dad, that garage scene was horrible "He's DEAD, ALRIGHT? DEAD"
it just really didn't deliver on the scares. they were all predictable jump scares and they all whiffed. the georgie scene was easily the most horrifying given the armless writhing in the water.
did anyone else think the CGI sucked arse? like wtf. and there were a few things that were CGI that couldve easily been practical, like the balloon floating through teh library.
i wanted to cry when the fat kid had no signatures in his yearbook
Fukunaga's version would've been infinitely better.
From reddit:
just not sure muschietti was the guy for this. good camerawork and atmosphere, but 0 scares. the climax was terrible too. they take turns beating the clown, seriously?
3/5

"I'm working on making the horror more about suspense than visualization of any creatures. I just don't think that's scary. What could be there, and the sounds and how it interacts with things, is scarier than actual monsters."
then later when he dropped: "I was trying to make an unconventional horror film. It didn't fit into the algorithm of what they knew they could spend and make money back on based on not offending their standard genre audience". Sounds way more interesting.

Those are some pretty good names, but the problem is we most likely aren't getting A-list Hollywood names. I don't think WB increased the budget for the second film. So it most likely will be lesser known actors, save one or two spots.
Knowing that, I would go with the following for my picks:
Bill - Walton Goggins
Ben - Lee Pace
Richie - Sam Rockwell
Eddie - Ben Wishaw or Giovanni Ribisi
Stan -Josh Radnor
Mike - Jeffrey Wright (now that I think about it, he may be too old so possibly Sterling K. Brown)
Bev - Jessica Chastain (if you can't get her, Evangeline Lilly)

Goggins also crossed my mind
I was thinking him as Henry Bowers though.
