yeah, the repeated scares of the kids got really old. if he has to scare them to make them taste better, why wouldnt he just freak them out and eat them. georgie wasnt even that scared, he was laughing at one point.
This is also the only scene that makes sense for him to be the clown. It is the only time IT tries to be approachable which is why i presume he is a clown so that kids will think he is Ok. Oe is it because the stanger things kid was scared of Clowns?
Instead, they just had him give the Kubrick crazy eye the whole time.

So happy that a scary SK novel has finally been brought to life properly.
Best (scary) SK movie since Misery, IMO.
I think I loved this movie before I saw it, TBH, but was impressed with the kids and how well they played off each other...guess it helped that I was a year or two older than them in '89, and the soundtrack (The Cult, Anthrax, Anvil) just nailed it.
Ritchie getting KTFO in the first salvo of the rock fight was frigging priceless.
Been a long time since my expectations were surpassed by a movie. I enjoyed this one a shitload more than either of the new Star Wars.

I think it's implied in the book (though it's been a long time since I read it) that he doesn't just kill any of his victims the first time he runs across them. Much like he interacts several times with the losers, he also does this with all of his victims. He is tormenting them over time. Much like you marinate meat "over time" to let the flavor fully set in, so does the fear over time does to his victims.

Saw it last night. So fricking good. Horror or not just a solid movie from start to finish. Well done.

What was up with them giving away all the scares in the previews/commercials? Every scare (except for the full projector scene) was spoiled. Still a great movie

I kind of agree with this but I also think its on the viewer to watch it or not, I said this in my original post I watched everything they ever released even bootleg versions of the georgie scene they released before that doll movie whatever it is and it seemed to water down the movie for me so I will only be watching 1 trailer for part 2.
headless boy scene was my favorite absolutely freaked me out

I must be in the minority here, but that scene along with the other 2 scenes with the monsters that had the messed up faces did absolutely nothing for me. Wasn't scary or freaky or whatever in the least bit for me

There's were a lot of scares that weren't in the previews. Georgie's arm, the leper, the woman in the portrait, most of the scares at the house...

I wanted so badly for this movie to be scary, but I got nothing. Hell, there was a little kid laughing at all the scary parts in my theater. It was a good movie and the kids were great, but it wasn't scary. I was a bit disturbed when It bit off Georgie's arm though.

Something that bothered me...why weren't we allowed to call Ben "Haystack"
?
?

I wouldn't call that a scare. That looked fake as shite.
I don't remember the scene of Mike in the alley being in the trailers.

frick you, the leper was creepy AF.

It looked like someone just threw on a Halloween mask.

I agree. The leper wasn't scary.

While I wouldn't call The Leper scary, it definitely looked pretty freaky and over the top. It kinda reminded of some old school 80s Tim Burton style animation.
