The "Chapter One" nonsense was a little heavy handed.

I'm sure it was just to let people that haven't read the book know that the story doesn't end here and more will be coming. Didn't seem out of place to me.

really loved the first 3/4 of the movie but thought it kind of stumbled in the sewer scene. Wish they wouldn't have changed the final cosmic battle involving a turtle with galaxies swimming in its fingernails for a bunch of kids beating the frick out of a clown with sticks but I'll take what I can get.

I've neither read the book nor seen the miniseries, so I assume that technically applies to me, but I know an open ending when I see one, so I didn't need my hand held for that "revelation".

They knocked it out of the park. fricking nailed it.

The kids were awesome. Richie and Eddie were funnier than in the books. The one-liners had the whole theater rolling.

"Derry was an old beaver trap.."

"Still is. Am I right boys!"

Who else wanted to yell at the screen when the kids kept repeatedly wandering off by themselves after they already realized Pennywise couldn't hurt them if they were all together?

Yeah when Bill chased after Georgie at the end I was like "come on!"

I enjoyed the movie. Andy Muschietti did a great job directing. The scares were non stop.
The look of the leper was awesome. That was probably the creepiest part for me. The best scare was Pennywise coming out of the slideshow in the garage
The New Kids On The Block bit between Ben and Bev was cute.

A couple things I didn't like:
I thought they could have used the Barrens more. It's such an important part of the book and mini series and in the movie it was just the woods. No dam or club house.
Mike Hanlon could have had more to do. For some reason they had Ben be the one who researches the history of Derry when in the book it's all Mike.

I need to see it again. I was comparing everything to what happened in the book and the mini series.

I don't get scared, especially not at jump scares so no idea why I went to watch it.

I thought they overdid it with the pervy jokes but i laughed out loud 2-3 times. Kids had good chemistry but I didn't like the jewish kid.

Richie reminded me of Squintz from The Sand Lot

Wow what an epic piece of shite

Theater laughed the whole time. No doubt the good reviews were paid for

What? The skarsgard kid was so awful. His look, his voice, everything. And for some reason the weird blurring effect when he'd wobble towards them

Kids were good, but pennywise was such a bomb

Saw it today, enjoyed it from start to finish.
It had some good comedic relief but the theatre wasn't laughing the whole time.
I agree that the acting was solid, the "pervy" dialogue seemed very on line with my times as a 13 year old.
Kind of wish I didn't see the trailer as it kind of gave away what to expect at certain parts, but I agree the part in the garage definitely got me.
Pennywise ruled dude

Just saw it. frick the guy who left a red balloon at the theater exit. God dammit.

ETA: I enjoyed it. My gf tried to get me to leave because she was so scared lol. She hates scary movies though.

FWIW, there was a little bit of a round of applause lol, I saw it at Northpark in Dallas. Thought that was kind of cheesy, but whatever.

Solid movie.
Penny wise was pretty good. Not too wild with the Stan kid. Was meh..

Other kids did well.

So what happened to the floating kids at the end. ?

I liked it. Pennywise was ok, I still prefer Tim Curry's version. Everything else about the movie was better than the mini series.

They were corpses. So I’m guessing they just stayed there.
