It's OK for cocaine but you draw the line at PCP?
PCP can make you extremely violent and is extremely unpredictable. Other drugs are a shade of yourself, but that makes you completely lose your mind. PCP is just on a different level.

Just who in the hell do you think brought pot smoking into the limelight?
Thats a good point, but certainly a minority in that age range

But, here again, someone is picking and choosing. Either legalize it all or don't.
Now,as a business owner, how will one reconcile the liability of pot being legal and not allowing a person to work while impaired. We have a lot on equipment that one can lose an appendage on while not being impaired. And I have sent a few guys home coming back from break or lunch smelling like pot.
So, with that being said, if there are other places like mine where people can't work while being impaired, where will the tax benefits come from if people can't afford to buy because of being unemployed?
Also, there have been two people I know of personally that have died from heroin overdoses just this year. Drug use starts somewhere. You can deny all you want to that marijuana isn't a gateway drug but I find it hard to believe that one day a person decides to stick a needle in themselves.

The effects on seizures are from marijuana that is high in cannibinoids, not HTC, although these are the stories pot heads typically rally behind.

And there's no good reason why they shouldn't be able to.

In what age range are pot smokers not a minority?

Who said anything about letting people use machinery while impaired?

What?

Booze is the #1 gateway drug in the US and we celebrate it's use daily.

Then make it a rule that you can't be impaired while working. That is what the railroad industry has done to its employees. Hell, you don't even have to be under the influence. All you have to do is show a positive result for MJ and you're in a world of shite.
You should have your own random drug testing program set up if you're really concerned about consequences following an accident involving someone with a drug in their system.

I already do all of that. What I'm concerned about, if all drugs are legalized (freedom) what will that do to the workforce? It is already small, due to the fact that the younger generation doesn't learn a skilled trade anymore.

I don't celebrate any of it. I don't see the need for any of it. Just had a talk with my kids. How many "bad" decisions are made when impaired by drugs or alcohol compared to unimpaired. And one "bad" decision can mess you up for the rest of your life.
Posted on 9/8/17 at 11:14 am to OMLandshark
All drugs should be legal, but as with alcohol you shouldn't be able to drive or infringe upon someone else's liberties. If a grown adult wants to get high, so be it. I don't need help being hungry and sleepy, so I choose a different hobby.

Good for you. Doesn't change the fact that it's a completely legal gateway drug. Should we ban alcohol too?

Like I said earlier, legalize all of it or ban all of it. Doesn't matter much to me other than having unimpaired workers.

If the scientists at the pharmaceutical companies found a legitimate medical use for this dangerous street drug then they should patent it and make it a real prescription drug
Then the penalties for getting high on marijuana should go up, because getting high would essentially be stealing medicine from little kids who need it

As has been posted numerous times, that line of logic would have to apply to alcohol as well. Yet, it doesn't.
The fact is pharmaceutical supply production of meds, and specifically controlled substances, is not hampered by illicit use.
