God forbid I say Jimbo is a good coach

This board takes offense to it for some reason. We all know he's a very good coach.

This thread is trying to convince people that O is better than the other two coaches. Except one was not like the other.

O hired great coordinators and is staying out the way, which is fantastic for LSU however as far as coaching knowledge you have a d line coach up against two former offense coordinators

Listen it wasn't a good outing yesterday but its extremely early to call him a failure or whatever. Lets see how the season plays out.

His offense is a fad that will soon be obsolete.

Glad as shite that we didn't get Jimbo.

We have the best top 3 right now in college football.

Let's be happy!!!

Stupid post. They are both far better coaches.

I would take the Canada/ Aranda duo over either. Hell I'd take Aranda over either. Y'all can say whatever you want but Aranda may be the best coach of any of them right now. I don't mean to disrespect either but IMO we are witnessing something special.

Herman doesn't really have an excuse. Jimbo has a pretty good one.

Yeah, pretty obvious LSU made the right choice. Put Orgeron in the Hall of Fame already.

In fact, let's just give LSU the 2017 national championship and not worry about playing the season.

That's the reaction you wanted, right?

I would give Aranda the head coaching job immediately if it meant he stays with LSU

I would kick coach O out and replace him with Aranda if thats what it takes for him to stay.

Aranda is an extremely critical piece for this program

Look I'm not going to sit here and say Orgeron is better than anyone at this point because you can't say that. You can say that he could prove to be better than both those coaches real soon though.

It's hilarious that you think being an offensive coordinator helps make you a great HC. A HC doesn't need to know how to be an OC or DC, he needs to have a direction for the team and know how to lead them in that direction. He also needs to have the complete respect and attention of his team so they follow that direction. O is doing that at this time as good as anyone. Say what you want but if the results come WTF does it matter?

I'm a neutral guy, didn't love or hate the hire. I thought it was different but also saw some of the results from his previous interim jobs and was impressed. The people that say interim and HC is different is stupid, at least in this case it is. He took over the program from day one and never looked back. He had complete control and the players bought in immediately. That's really all you can ask from a HC. Every HC needs great assistants to win. That argument is dumb as well.

Coach O is going to be here for a while, it's time for people to get over it and get behind him or you can just STFU and watch some grade A football. Doesn't matter to me who or what our fans think of the guy, if he wins championships and has us playing at a high level, frick all of you. That's all that matters to me.

The fact of the matter is that he got highly respectable coaches to come be a part of this staff. This seems like it's going to be an on going deal, not some one off. I would hate for Aranda to leave but I would absolutely trust coach O to find another highly respected coach to come help him at LSU, same with Canada. It's more about the foundation Aranda builds for LSU as a defense and if O can make that foundation stick if he were to leave. I'm confident he could do that. Hire someone who has studied him and you never know there maybe another guy out there that can add to his style to make it even better? I trust O at this point.

In fairness, Herman only had 9 months to get his team ready for a team they were favored to beat by 3 touchdowns at home. They looked pretty good huh
