Herman is amazing against top competition but his struggles against inferior competition is strange. He had all off-season to prepare for this game. Was this a home game too? My goodness we'd freak out losing at home to Maryland.

Orgeron isn't Cajun

And nothing justifies hiring him.

I think he will ultimately fail. I am not a fan of Herman. However, I am honest enough to say I could be wrong, unlike so many that anointed him as great. He loss games he had no business losing at Houston knowing he had no room for error.
So no fence, I think he will end up sucking long term.

I've said that all along

Herman can get away with winning on talent alone at LSU against these inferior teams he struggles with and he could scheme to win the big games.

Just my opinion though.

Coach O expectations for me:

Year 1: New Years Day 6 Bowl Game
Year 2: SEC Championship - Make playoff
Year 3: Win Game 1 in playoff and play in NC

I think 2018 is the year we win it all... This year, I'll be happy with getting into the playoff... And i dont expect us to beat Bama this yr (we will next yr when they come to us)-- but this yr i really, really want to beat Florida at their house.

The Orgeron hire will not be judged by what happens in Austin.

LSU won 78% of their games since 2010 while Texas was winning 52% of theirs. Anyone not able to notice
the sizeable difference in hills to climb between LSU and Texas, is a college football novice. imo

The game hasn't been played just yet BUT I would say BYU is on par with Maryland so we'll see the results tonight then judge.

Although I think Herman fricked up by picking Texas. He has a real job to do there. LSU is ready to go. We need to fill up a little more depth in areas but other than that, the culture only needed a slight change and was ripe for it. Which is another reason I think O was the right guy because he knows the program better than most, he has a real good feel for what was needed. A few tweaks here and there and boom, you're off to the races. Texas has a real culture change. Will likely take him 3 to 4 years to get the type of guys he wants there to start winning like Texas wants. We'll see but the season couldn't have started much worse for them at this point. Not good for Herman. We'll see tonight how O starts.

Mile doesn't own that record, LSU does and acquired it despite Less Miles' dead weight.

One terrible awful game where they were a huge favorite and gave up 51 points at home....but just once.

It's amusing how Miles owns all failings and LSU owns all successes.

That's fine, but you do realize that Texas was a 19 point favorite in that game don't you?

Blind faith for me.

Oh, And lots of talented players that are ready to play hard for their coach, even without getting a kiss from him.

Geaux Tigers.

This all happened under Miles too, transfers and suspensions, where were you during Miles' tenure at LSU, in a cave?

Huh??? Who said anything about Miles? OP was comparing Herman and Coach O.

The off-season under Coach O hasn't been that great with suspensions, transfers, decommitments

Exactly what did coach O have to do with any of that?

I said promote Fisher after Saban left.

Was Fisher ready then? It's not like FSU set the world on fire when he was the oc. And really took having a great QB 7 years later to win it all.
