Financial Stability of Breweries in This State

We know we've seen a lot of new places pop up in the last two years and not all of them are making good beer. Nola seems to have too many that fit this category from what people are saying.
How are all of these places going to stay open? There are only so many taps at the few places that try to push good beer.
Which ones will be out of business by the end of next year?

I'd be very surprised if Port Orleans lasted. They at least have food at the brewery, but the beer is average at best.

Of all of them, Port Orleans is probably the MOST likely to remain in business. They have backers with deep pockets.

I have been thinking about that, as well. I just posted a thread where a well respected brewery (The Commons) is going out of business here in Portland. I think they specialized too much in beer styles that aren't the most popular, but they made good beers. Real good beers. There are probably 50 breweries in Portland that I would have closed before I would have closed The Commons. However, the end result is that they got replaced by something that is arguably better, and will sell more beer (Modern Times). At the same time, a lot of shitty breweries are remaining open in Portland. Why couldn't Modern Times have come in and replaced Rock Bottom or Old Town Brewing?
Most breweries are neighborhood breweries. I haven't been to Courtyard Brewing, but it sounds like the same concept. You can make money by just being a local business. If you're really good, you'll expand. If not, you can still make business as a local brewpub. I don't think you should get hung up on the number of breweries in the state.
I would bet that Louisiana breweries would explode if the laws were relaxed allowing breweries more leeway in selling beer on premise AND selling to local taprooms, restaurants, and bottle shops.
What does surprise me is that there are not more brewpubs serving food in Louisiana. My wife doesn't drink beer, but she loves going to breweries with me because the food is really good at most of them. I can't think of a better combination than beer and cajun food for the brewpub concept.

The whole thing will get shaken up at some point. Every time I walk into a beer store I see new bombers and 750s of really expensive beer that isn't as exciting as it would have been 5 years ago. Who is buying all this stuff?

They arent. I think a good bit of them are just trying to take advantage of the craft beer boom but I think they are late to the party.
We are oversaturated with beer at the moment. Pretty much everything from out of state are shelf turds in BR

Maybe the answer is more taps and more beer. How difficult is it for a restaurant to get a great local beer in LA, other than Envie? There is a limited amount of really good local beer available to restaurants because the really good beer is bought up so quickly.
Are there restaurants that you would go to more often if only they had a better beer selection? Something besides Blue Moon and Corona? If there were more great local brews that were available to more local restaurants, I would bet that demand would go up. I think you might be on to something as far as oversaturation goes when you can go into a local restaurant and you can find Envie, GiTM, Jucifer, a NOLA Funk Series, Reasonably Corrupt, G&G, etc, on tap instead of 5 varieties of Abita. This is in the regular restaurants, not the more beer-centric places like Chimes.
My experience is that a lot of people drink local for their "go to" beer, and dabble in the non-local stuff for a change of pace.

Lots of people. Consider I am 1 of 5 in a group this weekend and none have tried Ghost before, but all are very open to craft beer.
I work with 2 dozen guys who love going to the local breweries. They have never been on a waiting list for beer or given Dan hand-gibbers for access in the room to the left. Are they buying expensive bombers every night? Not likely. But those $10 bombers don't take nearly that to produce.
I would love to know what Urban South or Wayward needs in order to break even on a can. I'm thinking .20 or so.

Their menu is sort of a goofy mess as well.
It's a nice looking place (I'm not of the mindset that a brewery HAS TO BE a grungy dump to be "real"), that you would think if they could get themselves together, they could be successful. It is sort of a weird location as far as parking, though.

I may be in the minority here but I wont scratch a place off of places to eat because they lack a good beer list. im going there for the food, not beer.

It could definitely make them a situational restaurant.
No beer/wine selection means I am looking at them for lunch or takeout.

I'm not disagreeing with you, and I go to restaurants that have mediocre beer lists because of the food. But if two restaurants are the same distance from you and all other things equal, are you going to the one with those beers I mentioned above on tap, or the one with Blue Moon and Corona?
Where I live, there are a lot of great restaurants that have great beer, so I rarely have to choose between great food OR great beer.
