Post this over on the OT. They are always going on about how great their gay neighbors are
You know this place is a cesspool when people on here consider the OT to be some bastion of progressive thought

I think the point is that children who grow up in traditional, stable families have the best chances at success..
ding ding ding.....we have a winner...doesn't matter who did the study...its not natural to have two daddies that frick each other in the arse raising a little girl....degeneracy promotes degeneracy

found that children raised by same-sex couples are far more likely to suffer depression than those raised by male-female parents
What about compared to only being raised by one parent? Or how about comparing a loving, stable same sex household to a dysfunctional and/or abusive male-female household?

Wrong. wife a good woman that will bear good children and raise them right...do not spare the rod...do not put up with procrastination. laziness, backtalk, etc...love your woman......meaning don't fricking cheat on her, slap her around, or degrade her...be an fricking alpha that leads his family unit....and we can reverse this shite.
Have you taken a look around lately? Divorce rate is above 50% - let me know how stemming that tide works out for you...

A study of 20 kids? Lol. And ... Study was performed by a Catholic priest as well. Sounds legit.
If you look up some of his previous studies, you can see a pattern

When I read some of this stuff it makes me thankful I had a normal family growing up

Of course its not optimal
now compare a child raised in stable, same sex home to a child raised in a divorced home, or a child raised by a single parent, or a child raised in a foster home

This should definitely be a disqualifier. Throw out all that genetics research done by Mendel while you're at it.
The author of the "study" just pulled information from an actual study for his conclusions. He wasn't actively involved in gathering data, meeting with the subjects or drawing first-person conclusions.
Sounds legit.

A study?
You mean there were people that didn't already know this?

Yeah, I'd bet serious cash that even if this is true (I doubt the source's reliability, especially due to a limited population they admit to) that kids of same sex parents end up far better off than children who grow up in a single parent home.
And the obesity has to come from mostly from the lesbian side of the same sex parenting. I'd never suspect that a kid of two gay guys would make it more likely for them to be obese due to gays probably being the most in shape subpopulation in the country.

We are all degenerates. In some way. It's the human condition bro.
Posted on 9/1/17 at 8:28 am to RollTide1987
And there had to be an actual study to figure this out?!

This is a silly and intellectually weak comparison. Apples to oranges.
Turn it around...compare a child raised in a stable, heterosexual home to a child raised in a gender confused home with a couple of drug addled "Rainbow Warriors" holding weird sex parties with children every weekend.
Which is better for the child????

I think he is just saying that with the traditional nuclear family in disarray, that maybe two well - adjusted same sex people can be an acceptable opinion. Kind of a beggars can't be choosy thing.

It's completely relevant. I'm not shocked that the point was lost on you though.

Given equivalent economic situations, you'd likely be wrong.
However, stats show equivalent economic situations (single-parent vs two-parent housholds) are far from the norm

you don't need to bring those numbers in to prove any point to me...I know first hand about getting two birthday parties every year...doesn't make it right just cause the number is high...
but to play into your point...why do so many divorces happen?...degeneracy...people being influenced by our cheat and have fun fulfill your desires society...both men and women...there is no sacrifice..no compromise...and frankly not enough alpha male leadership going on in homes...and I mean positive leadership....not abuse
