Ok i didnt hear that so maybe he did shoot himself. My point was he got into trouble for doing something he shouldnt have been doing and that was being at a bar during preseason parctice and that players from every college team do stupid things to get into trouble.
Ok but just being in a bar late at night is not nearly as bad as messing around with firearms in a bar parking lot late at night probably after he had a few adult beverages.

Not a narrative but the actual truth.
I know most cant fathom that some on this board were there in the program and do actually know what goes on and went on.
Oh I bet you're a real insider

Miles kicked off two of the best players he ever had for off the field issues. You're being completely ignorant if you act like he never disciplined players.
Had we had no suspensions the narrative would be that Coach O has cleaned up all the off the field issues and that Miles always had issues off the field!!!

Toliver needs to get his shite together.
By all accounts he has. People forget these suspensions go all the way back to the day after the bowl game. Lots of time to piss hot or to frick up.

The fact is Miles had issues and O will have them too. To believe that teenage kids will all of a sudden display more responsible behavior because of a new coach is ridiculous.
However the fact is that Miles let things go much longer than O is.

He kicked Honey Badger off the team for positive drug tests
He also kicked his starting QB off the team coming off of a championship season.

I'm so sick of hearing kids being kids! That's what's wrong with the world today. Bring back discipline and things would change.
Yeah!!! And tell them to get off the lawn too!!!

To be fair, it did take over 10 failed drug tests for him to boot Mathieu.
ETA: Over 10 according to Mathieu himself.

Even if true, this would be spun as a good thing if the roles were reversed
"Coach O gives these guys way more chances!! That's better for us, we gotta be like Bama and idk what they do! No more doghouse!"

Les had no choice it was out of his hands at that point

Exactly. Only insiders would know that though.

Guess what guy? I'm an even bigger insider than you
You know how? Because I just told you on the internet and there's no way to prove either way. I'm just as legit as DALsu

I guess that depends if all you care about is winning in the moment . If so, coach O isn't the guy you'd like as your coach.
But if you care about the program over an extended period, then you appreciate coach taking action now.
I know there are some fans on either side. I just tend to lean to the program.

Yes, Les never held players accountable and never suspended anyone.... O is changing the culture

Miles had the most successful long term tenure that LSU has ever seen. Guess all those guys he let off the hook weren't such bad things for the program ehh?
