If Aleeva F*cks this up, he might as well pack his bags

An executive/ CEO always has contingency plans in place . Those contingency plans are seldom ideal, but they are agreed to by both parties nonetheless.
The statement released by LSU was ridiculously irresponsible. Why would anybody Even want to play a game in Houston when the people of the area are suffering and miserable? It's morally reprehensible to even consider it .
Just pull the trigger on another venue . Provo is the logical choice . Use it as an opportunity to raise some money for the people of Texas. If Aleeva Peter Principles his way through this in his usual non- urgent, bureaucratic way, and LSU loses a game for the third year in a row because Joe Aleeva is a painfully unoriginal thinker, he needs to go.
Listen to me Joe - pick a venue TODAY and play the game . If ESPN gets shitty, leverage them in the court of public opinion if you have to. Play the game, find a stadium and play the game. Or get used to the torches and pitchforks.

Some emergency workers in Houston were on the news earlier saying they're going to use NRG Park as a refugee center
So yea, there's no way this game is played at NRG stadium

It's gonna be Provo and a portion of our fan base will still bitch, even though it is the best option, as you said.

Completely agree. It's amazing how many blunders this guy makes.

I'm neither suffering nor miserable. I'm hoping the game is still in Houston.

ESPN has been shitty for a while. I'm fairly certain they don't care either. This is the same entity that removed an Asian man from announcing a game because he had the same name a a dead civil war general. ESPN gives zero fricks, sadly

Please tell me you aren't this stupid. However, I already know the answer to that.
The fact that you think alleva has the power to do that in this situation tells me you likely just got off of your night shift at seven eleven.
Also, I want to see Lsu play as badly as the next fella, but Jesus man, people are losing their lives and everything they own.

I stated Friday that the game should be immediately moved so plans could be made. Move it to Indianapolis or Denver Do it today ! Sad that my decision making is keener than the ADs and I'm older with no degree. Common sense !

It was the announcer's idea and he asked to be switched. ESPN granted his request.

I may be in the minority, but I would like to see LSU play in Provo. The mountain backdrop to the stadium was beautiful.

The absurd theatrics some of our fans go through to spin this on Alleva

Agree 100%. There is no way in God's green earth, this game is getting played in Houston. The forecast is even getting worse than first expected, though many thought the Weather Channel and higher ups were over exaggerating the situation including myself. I can eat my crow pie now but today is the day to make the decision.

I guess we should just fire Alleva and hire you since you're such an expert negotiator. The line of bullshite that you just spewed isn't nearly as simple as you make it seem, especially when there's a large amount of money already invested in advertisement and promotions in Houston, along with the fact that it's not as simple as dialing up JerryWorld and telling them that we're playing our football game in their stadium. Whole lot of logistics go into this "little change"

Two things matter : that we help Houston and not hurt them, and that the game gets played . Everything else is incidental. The financial/ tv side is small potatoes in the overall picture and can be offset with minimal cooperation . Especially considering public sentiment.

Actually the fact that you are uneducated is very telling in this situation, because you actually think this is up to Lsu. We must have the dumbest fanbase in the country.
Posted on 8/27/17 at 9:25 am to BayouBengals03
Why are you saying Provo? Just curious why that's better than BR. I'm sure we could get a bigger crowd than BYU.

The financial side is not small potatoes. I thought you were just patronizing Alleva on how to be a good CEO? This would be a third straight year of canceled and/or games moved. It's okay to be concerned about the well being of the people affected by the storm and Alleva being wary of the implications it has on LSU's budget

He wants to see mountains in the background or something

There are people who get shite done and there are bureaucrats. You sound like the latter.
You choice is really not whether we can play in Houston ( we can't) but whether we play it or not . There is no way Houston diverts public safety resources to play a football game. So I will put you and all the other " the game will be played in Houston " down for - the game is cancelled. Because it's essentially the same position.
