SVP has become irrelevant

Working Joes don't stay up late enough to watch his show. He used to be a major voice in sports and now it's like he barely exists. What a huge miscalculation by ESPN.

Jemele hill is the future of the worldwide leader

Agreed. I listened to his podcast every single day, and now I actually haven't heard anything from him in over a year.
Come to think of it, the most I've heard from him was on PMT.

I agree and I don't even go to bed early. 11 PM is actually about the right time for me getting in bed catch him and then go to bed. It seems to me that he is pretty hit or miss outside of football season. His show is the only ESPN programming I watch besides Russillo on News every now and then, but half the time I turn it on it's the traditional 2 man SC on.

Did the disappearance of SVP lead to PMT's dominance? I'd love to see the 30 for 30 on that.

Not sure why they had to get away from SVP and Rusilio

Pretty sure SVP takes most of the summer off. He's usually on a lot during football season.

I stopped listening to SVP, which led to me eventually deleting the ESPN radio app. I would occasionally listen to the Herd (With Colin Cowherd) as I was already in the app.
I started exploring other forms of media, including Barstool podcasts, Fangraphs, PFF, and SBNation. I listened to the Rundown and loved it, so I tried KFC Radio, and massively loved it. Once Big Cat left KFC Radio, it sucked so now I listen to PMT occasionally, but I still listen more to the Rundown.

Did you expect anything less?

We have Ryen aka Mr let me tell you I'm in the middle Russillo to take the reigns ??

I would think he still gets decent ratings on the West Coast, but it's just tough for Central and East Coast viewers (who are the biggest SVP people IMO) to watch him.

Who?!? I agree, I haven't heard his voice since he's off radio, will never watch espn at that time

Doesn't fit the narrative.

I think it is just a function of when SVP came into sports as a professional. He remains focused on the model of Patrick and Olberman that was the most important model when he was young.
The strange thing is he, with Ryen, were hitting the better mark with a good conversation based podcast. Joe Rogan, not Keith Olberman is the way media have gone and SVP is still chasing his childhood fantasy of being a Walkter Cronkite of the sports media.

I haven't been watching lately but that's just because we're in the dog days of summer. Otherwise yeah, I think he does pretty well on the West coast. I watch him every night during the NFL and NBA seasons.

I haven't seen much Van Pelt lately either but I'll watch his Sportscenter during football season.
