Harang also said the administration plans to spend $500,000 on a "root cause analysis" to determine what went wrong during the Aug. 5 flooding. The administration is in the process of hiring an outside firm to prepare that report.

I'm glad the city is so broke that it is going to cost us $500k to determine that Mitch was the primary reason for what went wrong.

It's LA.

Everything can be solved with a good old fashioned expensive study that will be thrown in the pile of other fruitless expensive studies.

He will actually spend $150 on writemypaper.org for some college kid to put something about rain and pumps failing, and pocket the $499,850

I thought we already knew the root causes. They need to spend money on fixing the issues and not backtracking.

yep. Louisiana this is why you suck despite having all the god-given gifts any state could ever desire. You hire the absolutely worst politicians.

Except its probably going to cost a whole lot more than $500K.

Remember when statue removal was supposed to be $600K and ended up being over $2M. Easy to spend other people's money on dumb shite

root cause analysis

Brah, I do these all day errday. I will charge 150k and hire his nephew-in-law to pour my new concrete driveway.

Will get it done 3 days after Mitch leaves office too, or before if that's how he so chooses.

Really interested to see who is selected to do this analysis.

You only do this for 1 of 2 reasons:
1)You really don't know (incompetence)
2)You need some evidence to cover yourself (scapegoat)

Is he fricking serious?

He wants to spend $500,000 to pretend his own criminal negligence didn't cause the fricking flood?

He's paying for the city not to be found liable.
