Frankly the main thing I got from the segment which was shocking is that there is a major market team in the LA Dodgers 50 games over .500 and is on national tv 0 times
But yea, the cubs have taken some of the games the Dodgers usually got

With the Astros and Dodgers being so far ahead in their divisions, I would imagine the Sox/Yankees/Cubs/Cards will get the national TV time.

#Tigers and #Astros have talked enough about Verlander that each side has a good understanding of the other's position, source says. (1/2)

While no deal is close, circumstances are such that one phone call could create momentum rapidly, closer to Aug. 31 roster deadline. @MLB

I like it... the Astros have the division all but wrapped up, so let him throw a few more times for the Tigers, make sure his arm doesn't explode, then make the trade on the 30th or so and bring him over for the stretch run and the playoffs.

While I wouldn't expect Luhnow to publicly say there were any trade talks ongoing, it's probably telling that he's publicly downplaying the likelihood of any addition in what is surely a response to the Verlander stuff.
It's not happening.

Speaking of Bregs, yesterday was his 162nd game in the majors. So over a full seasons worth of games:
.269/.342/.473 42 doubles 8 triples 21HR 79RBI 14SB 62 walks 114K
.269/.342/.473 42 doubles 8 triples 21HR 79RBI 14SB 62 walks 114K

Is it though? Wouldn't you want to set expectations really low in case no trade happens, especially after the Britton fiasco?

Absolutely you would.

Down on the farm Cionel Perez cuban lefty makes his double A debut today. Theyve been very aggressive with him (he is 21) starting in low A to start the year and already in double A. If he performs well he could be yet another pitching prospect who could see time with the MLB club as soon as next season.
Forrest Whitley will debut with the hooks tomorrow.
Daz Cameron continues his renaissance. He has brought his OPS to above .800 on the season. His average over the last 10 is .474 and hitting .358 over the last 30 days. It will be interesting with what Luhnow does with him. He may finally be building the confidence he needs to succeed, but its about time to get him moving along. Delicate balance to strike to say the least.

Luhnow usually seems pretty forthcoming in his interviews but it is always hard to tell when him or any GM is being honest or negotiating through the media. If I were betting I don't think they end up dealing for Verlander, but I don't it's some huge long shot.
And that same thing thing goes for what is being leaked to writers as well that they're posting on Twitter. I'm pretty Heyman just regurgitates what he is told from people in the front office with zero interpretation

The Tigers are leaking stuff trying to get other teams to think the Astros might deal on Verlander. They are trying to get the Cubs or Yankees or Dodgers to jump in

small play on Ground Chuck and our Astronauts this evening - a win helps my Brewies with the NL Wild Card chase.
Play of the day is laying the chalk on the Tribe, as the Wahoos invade Target field.
Good luck to those who tail

Kalas just not my kind of announcer. Ashby would be good during a losing streak.
