According to an HR manager, this was decided a few years ago. They were having trouble getting people to move here, as in new hires. Good bye tax dollars.

Damn, my dad retired from Albemarle... Most of his time there it was Eythal, but I guess for about 10 years before retiring Albemarle bought them out. They are a good company, hate to see more jobs from there leave out of Louisiana.

Jindal gave them millions to move here. Mrs. Jindal used to work for them.
It's time to quit these stupid subsidies to private businesses. Get our tax structure right and end the give aways.

Yeah man, frick the big corporations. Make them pay.
This state will literally die if you quit giving tax breaks to corporations to lure and keep them here. Tax incentives are the only reason they are here. This state has little to offer otherwise. And those of us working can't afford the hit if companies start leaving.

Louisiana has to give big tax incentives bc it would otherwise not be attractive for businesses to move into the state.
I've done this kind of due diligence for companies looking to move to lower cost areas. They are looking for good infrastructure, a strong potential employee pool of educated workers, and some higher-end quality of life accommodations to attract executives.
As of today, the only way you're getting an executive to move to Louisiana from the east/west coast is if they just happen to be an avid fisherman/hunter. Otherwise, you have to over compensate with salary/benefits that then negate the move to a lower cost area.
Thats not analogy, that's real life.
