Why would he even say we have military options in Venezuela???
He must be sucking up to Graham and McCain who at this moment are celebrating the opportunity for more war and more spending on their defense contractor contributors.

I suppose you did not watch the press conference. He did not threaten Venezuela. He was asked what options we have.
He said we will protect the security of the US and our allies. He said that all options are available and we have military options to deal with any country or security threat.
We should have all options diplomatic and military on the table to deal with any crisis or security threat. He did not say anything was imminent or being considered. He said all options were on the table.

Pretty sure they have the worlds biggest oil reserve, we may have to use our military to protect that so Exxon can help the people there.

Because military is one of the options for Venezuela? I imagine anytime you assess a humanitarian threat military action will always be one of the options discussed. I'd been surprised if it wasn't an option.

Don't do it, Donald. Don't run into that burning barn.

I have no problem with that. Better us than Russia or China.
The Monroe Doctrine is the best known U.S. policy toward the Western Hemisphere. Buried in a routine annual message delivered to Congress by President James Monroe in December 1823, the doctrine warns European nations that the United States would not tolerate further colonization or puppet monarchs.

didn't catch what the President said or am not aware of context. All I know is that the U.S. always has the military option to "correct" situations or protect our interests, especially if it's happening in our own back yard. A U.S. President should never take the military option off the table.

All Trump is doing is carrying on with that establishment agenda, like Obama did before him and Bush before him.
All Trump is doing is planting the seed that if Venezuela refuses to get in line with the fascist establishment that controls this country, there will be a heavy penalty to pay.
Who do you think is fomenting the current unrest over there?
