It's hard to advise when to take him other than to say that being able to lock down a likely long term elite player for less than 1st round price for years certainly seems like a legit strategy. Just know that you probably aren't the only one thinking about it. In your league Zeke's draft value might not be greatly reduced. Like in a dynasty league I'm pretty sure that Zeke is still a top 5 pick in inaugural drafts.

Thanks for the advice. The way the rules are set up, you basically have to find a player off of waivers who sets it off and keep him forever as your last pick. For example, I was lucky enough to get Arian Foster in (2010?) off of waivers and keep him as last pick for multiple years. Someone's had Gronk since his rookie season..even kept him last season knowing he would barely play. I'd probably do better trying to find that gem off of waivers again than reach for Zeke

If you draft Zeke, you HAVE to have someone to start at RB1. If you wait and someone (like me drafts McFadden) before you do, then you're basically stuck with a back that probably is outside the top 25, possibly 30. You have to make sure you get the back up. Last year, I started Bell in the first round and made sure I got Williams in the 8th. I had a top 5 back after 3 weeks. Perfect replacement for Bell. Same situation .

Are you talking about taking Zeke in the 1st? If not, then you can find a RB1 elsewhere instead of reaching for McFadden or you can take McFadden without reaching. Drafting Zeke does not necessitate overdrafting McFadden.

Last year, I took Bell in the 2nd. I didn't reach for Williams, someone took him in the 6th trying to block me. I had DJ in the first and then took Ware in the 13th to play in place of a bell for 3 weeks and coasted to a championship.

Same situation.

When's the Dallas bye? If you get him from 7- playoffs with no breaks that where the money is won....

Yep I would consider him late 2nd and def in the 3rd without a doubt. It decreases your chances of making the playoffs but increases your chances of winning it all if you can still get in. In a winner take all league it's a no brainer imo.

Back end of th second round/beggining of the third would be good

Say you are pick 2, so you get DJ or bell. Then grab Zeke and then still have a player in the same range for your third pick that snakes back to you in 2-4 picks. Or risk it and get Zeke in the 3rd

So now you have 2 top 3 backs after week 7 but a top 20-30 player at WR to keep you in contention

At that point you only need to get into the playoffs and you can steam roll dudes

Gordon wasn't efficient. He just got 747595937374 carries a game. Gillie won't get that.

DAL plays seatttle in what would be RB he fantasy championship week

Seattle allowed league best 3.4 yards per carry last season

So you don't get em for 6 weeks, but you're drafting him for playoffs when he plays best rush D in the league

Think on it

But if we are talking last year, i think the cowboys line is pretty good to carry him

You wana act like you are drafting a dude in the 2nd round to win the first part of the season. You are drafting him for one reason.. when it matters, the playoffs. If you cant draft well enough the rest of the draft to compensate for a few wks missed that sounds like your problem.

There are almost always 2nd and 3rd round value picks because someone's going to reach for somebody like Brady, a Saints homer may reach for Brees, the guy who picks Brady at 2-9 may pick Cooks at 3-2, etc etc etc

I pick at 3 and as many mocks as I have done in the last few days I just cant see a scenario where my team is better overall by taking Zeke over say Gurley, Lynch or Lamar Miller. In the 3rd I could be looking at WRs like Cooper, Michael Thomas, Cooks.

I think you guys are right in that he'll go in the 2nd or early third but I won't have him on my board till the fourth. Im not willing to give up that flexibility opportunity to be two strong at either WR or RB and be one or two injuries away from a boring wasted arse season.

He's already filed an appeal and will likely file for the injunction. My gut says that he won't miss any time this year (ala Brady), but I'm not sure that risk is worth second round.

I'd love to pick him up in the 5th, but don't see him dropping that far. I had Bell last year and it set me back, but I overcame it and won the ship. Four more games would be hard to overcome with a 2nd round pick

A 30 year old McFadden won't last 6 weeks so I wouldn't sweat it if somebody reaches for him, but I do think the suspension could be shortened or delayed. Zeke is worth a 2nd if your league takes a lot of playoff teams (like 6/10). But if only 4/10, etc makes playoffs might not be worth the risk.
Just know to get that 3rd rb sooner if you draft Zeke. Then McFadden late if he's available.

Brady won his injunction but denied all wrong doing. Zeke unquestionably broke the "conduct policy" which his suspension is for. Its not a fair comparison IMO

Without knowing scoring i would agree completely. With the bonuses, qbs get in this league, the top 3 qbs are a huge advantage.
