Which ever fan base has fewer college grads is the more trashy. It varies by location
Hardcore Texans fans are more trash than the various college fans in town.
In Alabama, Alabama fans are trashier.
In New orleans, Saints fans are trashier.

1) Many college fans attended school at their team of fanhood, which is an impossibility for NFL guy.
2) Hardcore NFL guy's attire of choice is a jersey, college guy's is a polo
3) College games do still have SOME element of "gather up the kids and family and go back to the old campus for a game", at least for the smaller tier games anyway. The NFL doesn't really have that vibe, not to me anyway.

This shite is stupid. Anything that is popular by a lot of people will be liked by "trashy people".
Several years ago I watched something about the Raiders Nation.. They were interviewing the fans that you probably think of when you think of Raiders fans (the guy dressed like Darth Vader, other people with spikes on their shoulder pads, etc) and most of them have really good jobs. One of them was/is a software engineer, at least one is a lawyer, etc, etc.
So just because some guy goes to a game with his buddies, he has his jersey on drinking and getting into the game... yelling and screaming. Doesn't mean that person is "trashy".
