Man that pic brought back some good memories and some bad ones. That guy made everything seem so awesome but alas I was never able to order anything :( Parents just don't understand.
Good ole Don West. We used to get high as a kite in college and watch him go. I remember his biggest lie was basically guaranteeing you'd get a T-whatever Honus Wagner with every order.

Did this guy ever do anything in the majors?

I think Gregg Jefferies and JD Drew had to be the most overhyped baseball players. Man I had both of those rookie cards and they didn't do shite. Oh well I loved collecting all cards growing up.

Remember when Nolan Ryan & Robin Ventura got in a fight and there was a card made of it.. Ryan had him in a headlock.

Had a 1980 Rickey Henderson rookie card. I lost that mofo on a move somewhere. Me and my twin bro collected everything we got late 1970's Pittsburgh steelers, joe Montana, Dan Mario, Steve young rookies. The only little box set I ever bought of the NBA was a 1985 set which included the all rookies of Jordan, akeem, barkley, stockton

That Greg Jeffries was worth $7 back in the day.

Ken Griffey Jr Seattle Mariners 1989 Upper Deck Rookie #1 Card might be the GOAT of late 80s cards. Dug mine out of the closet juat a couple of weeks back. Still in the screw case, mint as ever. I've got a couple of unopened cases too. I think one is 1990 donrus.

Each year for Christmas my parents would get us a box of cards. We could open one present on Christmas Eve so if you could find that one you basically had an awesome night of opening pack after pack and then finding Santa presents in the morning. Such a great time. I'd love my kids to get into it but there's no value in it anymore so the hobby is dead. I see cards at the checkout now and there's never anyone there. In my day the baseball cards always had kids staring at them. And that gum...
