Doctor Board: GGT Level is 77. Am I Going To Die?

Had my blood drawn at my company's annual lab draws. GGT came back at 77 (high end average is 55). How bad is this? Was accidentally overdosed with medication by a doctor when I was 2 years old. Said it could have an affect on my liver when I got older. 30 years old now. Is 77 THAT high or a "yea it's high but not a concern" high?
I do have an appointment with my doctor but just looking for some insight for the time being.

I'd say the odds are pretty good you aren't immortal, but who knows?

Were any other readings "out of range"? Many things can cause an elevated GGT, with barbiturates being a normal culprit as well as alcohol. I'd need to know more about your habits before I would feel comfortable giving advice.

How are the other LFTs? Did you drink recently prior to the test?

Yes.

Though probably from nothing relating to that.
Can range from nothing to bad things. Without knowing anything about you, signs point to more likely not a big deal. this is one of the problems with these "health fairs"- by USPSTF guidelines, you likely didn't even need it drawn/checked.

We treat the patient and not lab values. GGT is just one piece of a very complex puzzle.

Do you have a history of elevated markers such as this or even blood glucose cholesterol triglycerides etc.
What medication were you accidentally prescribed and overdosed on as a toddler? Probably doesn't matter now but you never know

Some medications cause high liver enzymes. Alcohol also. No drinking for awhile and dr will probably have it repeated.
