My high school English teacher, who was brilliant and taught me how to write, did say that a movie wasn't worth watching if you couldn't follow it with your eyes closed. I thought about his words during this movie.

Sounds like terrible advice. Not surprised an English teacher would think that however

With this sage wisdom, it's easy to see why he was only a high school English teacher.

It is film not radio.

That is the worst advice I have ever heard.

The music and dialogue are a huge part of movies, yes, but visuals are just as important.

How many movies can you follow with your eyes closed? I would imagine only movies that are extremely heavy on useless exposition.

So all of the great silent films are not worth watching?....

Your HS English teacher apparently never heard that film is a visual medium. In film you want to show things not say them.

Certainly a film needs a story that would sound good around a camp fire.

Don't special education teachers teach all the subjects?

I tried this once with a Chaplin film. Didn't work out well.

That teacher must hate silent films.

That's absurd. So all of classic silent movies are considered "not worth watching"? LOL...okay. So much for blind people as well.
