For me, the fried egg on everything. Just stupid. So many other options for flavor.

Shitty craft beers with demand being driven by false scarcity, 2017's version of Beenie Babies.

On a similar beer note, why is everything an IPA? I like an IPA every now and then, but I like other styles of beer.

the everything trend

Kale - in everything green
Bacon - on everything - doesn't suddenly make something bad good good - or something good better
Sriracha - on everything is just bad, buy a half dozen peppers and learn which go best with what.

Well the shitty ones aren't scarce. They are shelf-turding on your local grocers shelf. The good ones are driven by false scarcity. Like Don Perignon - they make 5 million bottles a year of that and pretend they make a hundred.

I'm tired of brussel sprouts and my mother was making great short ribs in the 60's and so do I and none I've ever ordered are better.

LOL
Everything is not an IPA. That's just what gets mentioned here a bunch, but there is a ton of other beer out there.
And if a shitty beer is being hunted down, that should leave plenty of your great beer on the shelf. What's the problem?

demand

and the worst trend in food at the moment is obviously the naming of restaurants (Spruce and Rye, Table and Bread, etc)

it's akin to the early 2000s when all bands were The Strokes or The Lovers or The [insert anything here]

Those don't make me want to eat there.

Now let me know when Meat and Potatoes, or Burgers and Beer open up and I'll be in line.

Never gave this much thought.

Thought about it for a moment and I would say I don't have an opinion on worst trends. I like to see the food industry change things up and come up with new direction, good or bad.

This is akin to an OT thread on what people wear and don't care about that either.

No offense meant Otis.

I saw a problematic thing at whole foods a few months back. They were pimping Mustard Greens as the new kale. Don't drive up my greens prices.

I'm so far out of the loop, I don't know what a damn IPA is.

But I agree with the craft beer craze being ridiculous. My wife has dragged me to 2 local breweries around Lafayette. And she doesn't even like beer. It's just the hip place to go.
