Have we discussed over-sized SHACKLES on trucks?

I see this a good bit around St. Tammany
I've seen way more extreme examples, but can't find any good pics online. There is a suburban in my neighborhood with a blue one easily twice the size of those above.
Is there some secret purpose I'm missing here?

I don't know what your line of business is but that is not a D-ring, that is a shackle.
