You laugh at the idea that he will learn from his mistakes at LSU and be a positive force at Ole Miss.

Yet you just take Orgeron at his word when he assures you he has learned from his mistakes at OM and be a positive force at LSU.

Why the double standard?

Nope. Some of us are very logical. Les will not "learn" anything and O is likely to be mediocre at best.

My very short answer would be how Orgeron did at USC 6-2 and Lsu 6-2 after taking over.

I don't think anyone will be successful at Ole Miss with the sanctions they're going to get. They'll have a large amount of scholarships taken away and who knows how many years of being banned from bowls. Their talent level is going to be horrendously bad.

Les had five, count em, one, two, three, four, five years to come up with a new offense. He was inept, don't know why it'd be any different at Ole Miss. He's not a good coach. The jury is still out on Orgeron. Maybe he'll be good, maybe he won't.

They aren't going to hire him.

The rant is going to suck until this stupid rumor goes away.

I believe some people and my others.

Les has as close to a come to Jesus moment in 2015 as anyone

And not only did he double down on his offense he decided to run it with an injured running back.
O would do anything for a job. Les won't even get out of his own way.

Tough to be good in the SEC when you might have to raid the fraternity houses to fill out your roster for a couple of years.

Have you ever seen Necessary Roughness? That's 2018 Ole Miss, minus the uplifting ending or having 1990 Kathy Ireland join the program.

Just let this stuff unfold as it will. You know what you were going to get with Les and hopefully you are glad that it is over. If you aren't, I would call you insane. The time had come.

We have no idea with Coach O, but the upside is there. Anybody who claims he will be better is going off blind faith. Hoping that's the case though is extremely reasonable. The last 5 years of Les are very attainable by any man that steps into the reins of LSU.

I have no idea what Coach O will be, nor does anyone else, but I can only hope what he has done organizationally is good enough to at least maintain. Regardless, it looks likely that it will be done in much better fashion this year compared to others. We can only wait and see.

One thing I haven't read out of all of this, is that Les still has to be in an active job search in order to collect his pay from LSU. I just feel he's doing this to go through the motions and test the waters. And this makes a great story line so all of these writers are bitting on the opportunity to write their viewpoints on what they heard from someone else.

My point is Les will not be the HC because he wants to win now and starting over at ole miss is not going to work well for him unless he's doing it to land a better job afterwards. Who knows what his mindset is atm.

he won't be successful there because they are going to be hammered by probation, which is also why he's not going to take a job there.

Les had several years of having proven that what he was doing wasn't working on the offensive side and never trying to change anything or hardly changing direction despite saying that he would change. His offense would fail spectacularly in huge moments from stubbornness. He would apologize and say that things were going to change. Then he would be stubbornly right back to doing the exact same thing. He has proven that he can not learn any new tricks, and he just is what he is. Or he refuses to try anything new at least.

That said, I'm not exactly super confident in Coach O either.

O can be mediocre if he recruits like he always has and lets his coordinators coach that talent. Game time he worries about clock management and influences big calls. Sounds good on paper. Miles was pretty much told point blank that he has to stop the old big 10 offense and he would not. And I am not knocking Miles for that btw, we won a lot of games and he was a great man. But coach O would be a fool to make the same mistakes he made at old miss, trying to control wvery aspect.

Les will never change his offensive strategies.

Ole Miss and LSU are vastly different jobs. Virtually the only thing that Orgeron has to do next year is stay the frick out of things and let Canada, Aranda, and our talent do their things. He had a short tenure at Ole Miss and he seemed to realize a lot of things in hindsight and I can't say that I'm disappointed in his performance at LSU last year, especially with Ensminger running the offense.

Furthermore, if O is as good to work with/for as everyone says he is, then he shouldn't have any issues pulling in quality coordinators year in and year out and being a PJ Fleck type of coach who relies heavily on his assistants and recruiting accumen.

Miles on the other hand would be going from a top 5 job to a program in shambles, and he had 10 fricking years of reporters and news outlets trashing his offense, and he openly admitted that he was "looking into changing things" every offseason, and in the end he flat out he refused to. He was almost fired once, and he still refused to change. I don't really see any reason to believe that Orgeron is hardheaded on that level.

LSU's program can win a lot of games on its own at this point in time and I think Orgeron coaching here and, hypothetically, Miles in a lesser situation would be proof of that

1/9/2012. Oh and that saved by the skin of his teeth and "perception" in budget negotiations at the end of 2015, and didn't change a damn thing.

stubborn hardheaded lied to us stubborn hardheaded lied to us stubborn hardheaded lied to us stubborn hardheaded lied to us stubborn hardheaded lied to us stubborn hardheaded lied to us stubborn hardheaded lied to us stubborn hardheaded lied to us stubborn hardheaded lied to us stubborn hardheaded lied to us

Like I said in another thread, he had numerous "learn from his mistakes" opportunities at LSU with an above 4mil salary and 11 years. To do it now shows he was negligent at LSU, not stubborn.
