Are khakis and a polo ok for business casual during the summer?

I have a meeting tomorrow and they sent out an email saying to dress business casual. Daily wear is a suit and usually they require a suit at meetings as well. I guess they are wanting everyone to be more comfortable.

No one in the meeting, including the presenter, is a higher level manager than me.

I'd just wear a suit with the tie loosened a touch.

Yes, and my sympathy for the long-arse, pointless meeting. See if you can beat your high score on Words with Friends or something productive.

Button down with rolled up sleeves is as casual as I will go at work

Imagine how much superior you will appear if you show up in a full power suit. Remember, dress for the job you want.

You mean like a grade school uniform?

I'm thinking button down, no tie, and slacks.

Wear a suit and freak everyone else out.

If your regular attire is a suit AND you have a meeting that day, i would go on the safe side and wear cargo kahkis and a dry-fit polo.

Which is why I walk into the office everyday everyday wearing a full Yankees uniform with a glove on my hand and a bat on my shoulder.

Now's your chance to display your dominance.

Show up in cargo shorts, flip flops, and a life is good t-shirt.

Who are they? and why are they decided what to wear to work if you are their boss?
