I hate to admit, Conor may have more of a chance than most people think

I've read several interviews, not the clownshow that is these pressers and it's clear Money's struggling in camp because his heart isn't in it anymore. He's made the comment "I can't do this anymore, my body can't take it."
He's doing this strictly for the money, money to pay the IRS. Can you say Roy Jones JR? Same reason, same deal and hopefully it won't have the same result.
I can't stand Floyd. As a human he's fairly pathetic. Insanely gifted fighter, I'll give him that but his fights are painful to watch because of his style.
I actually hope Floyd wins. But only because I'm a huge boxing fan and have been all my life. I think a Floyd loss would be bad for the sport.
Do I think Conor has a chance if Floyd gave everything he had in camp and was as focused as he was against Manny? Not a snowball's chance in hell. He's just too hard to get a clean hit on. However, even by his own admissions that is not the case.
If I were Conor, I would work the body hard and often. Throwing him into the corner if he had to block him in to work the body. Floyd isn't that big of a puncher anymore so I think the fear of him hurting Conor unless he punches himself out is low. Roy Jones told me one time there is nothing more frustrating to a fighter than to get pounded to the body and you know there isn't a damn thing you can do about it. It just zaps your will and kills your stamina.
If he works the body for several rounds and frustrates Floyd, the mental breakdown could start creeping in and that's when Conor could get lucky and land a power shot.
I hope that doesn't happen because I love boxing. I think there's a bigger chance than some people think for the reasons I listed

Conor has to constantly push forward and try to bully Mayweather like the school teacher did with pacquaio. Fighting while backpedaling is much more draining. Conor has every advantage except skill so it'll be fun to see what happens.

either way, not paying $100 for this shite

His heart isn't in it?
Why would it? He's not in trouble. This is like Tom Brady worrying about facing Ohio State if he went back to Michigan to QB with his Pats team filling in.
Mayweather can half-arse it and still easily win.

Nate Diaz says Conor has no chance

quote:Isn't this whole spectacle for the money? It's not exactly a fight between two greats establishing a champion and a place in historical greatness.
He's doing this strictly for the money, money to pay the IRS.
quote:I don't know enough about boxing, and specifically the individual strengths and weaknesses of both (especially McGregor), but wouldn't this be just another thing that is "easier said than done," and something that other more experienced boxers may have tried?
If I were Conor, I would work the body hard and often. Throwing him into the corner if he had to block him in to work the body
And besides if this is the best strategy, why would it be any more likely to be effective now than before?
quote:If Floyd doesn't really care, as you're arguing, wouldn't the frustration be less likely in this case?
the mental breakdown could start creeping in and that's when Conor could get lucky and land a power shot.

McGregor basically already conceded when in the 1st presser he said something of the sort like let's take it to the octagon and see what happens. He knows he is gonna lose.
He has basically no shot. Like if you brought a top high schooler to face Clayton kershaw. Yea he might square one of 20 up(this would be CMcG's knockout of Floyd) but it's a very small shot in the dark.

He never has been. Do you know anything about boxing?

The only way Floyd loses is if he throws the fight for an even bigger payday at the rematch.

I practice MMA and box...uninformed post. Don't know if McGregor will even land a punch to be perfectly honest. Teddy Atlas said the only way for McGregor to have a chance is to take 5 years off and strictly box and even then it wouldn't make much of a difference.
