Game of Thrones on a Plane

I am traveling back from a wedding sunday night and was wondering if there is anyway to watch Game of Thrones live on the plane. I will be flying southwest which should have Wifi but i think they block most of the video streaming platforms like HBOGO. I have the Directv app but i would imagine that they block that too. Does anyone know? Is there some third party site that would have GoT and not be blocked by the airline?

Honestly, streaming sucks on all flights and deliberately so. They want you to purchase movies from them if there's that option (although I've never come across it on Southwest). You'll need to download it first.

The wifi on southwest isn't great at all. I was trying to watch videos on youtube and I couldn't get videos to stream in HD. They do have some live channels but I don't know if HBO is one of them.

I can't speak for Southwest, but on the last Delta flight I took, each passenger had their own TV screen with beaucoup on-demand content, including HBO shows. Needless to say, I rewatched all of season 5 of GoT.

Given the content, I'd be uncomfortable even if possible. I'd hate to be the dude giving little Thaden his first boobie scene.

It's the first episode. Like, I understand if it was the season or series finale, or even the epic episode 9.
You can wait a couple of hours to watch this one.

Yea I get that. I would make sure that i was sitting on the window and make sure no one else can see my screen. Its not like its hard core porn or something.

I'm not gonna spend $500 or do something illegal to watch it a few hours early but if it is possible to watch it then why not watch it?

I watched Nocturnal Animals on a flight a couple months ago, the opening credits was awkward to say the least.

Uh, it gets fairly close to that in a lot of ways sometimes.
IMO, only an a-hole would watch something like GoT on a plane (due to its content). Don't be an a-hole. You'll be okay if you have to wait a couple of hours to watch the show.

I felt the same way watching Bone Tomahawk on a plane. I feel sorry for whoever caught a glimpse of that killing scene toward the end.
