Who are some of the best/entertaining color guys that have been in sports? Whether best all time or just some you like. Any sport, any region, I would just like to learn more about some good ones.

I really like Bob Brenly. Was with the Cubs for a while, now is the DBacks color guy. Sucks he is partnered with Steve Berthuiame.

Jim Deshaies has always been one of my favorites.
ETA: Definitely NOT Hawk Harrelson.

I really like Cris Collinsworth, although I've seen him get hate on here before. But I think he's great.

Reggie Miller for NBA or NCAAT.

Magic Johnson when he provided color for NBC in the early 90s bc it always seemed as if he was eating a bologna sandwich when speaking and always remarking about "winnin time," it was simply hilarious

always liked Hubie

Herbstriet is not that good talks too much now. Blackledge is fantastic as was Spielmann

I think he does a good job of being both entertaining and honest.
I like Bill Raftery. I think he just adds a lot of fun to the broadcast
Yes he's "biased" (somehow simultaneously against EVERY team in the SEC) , but Gary Danielson does an excellent job of breaking down the game during his broadcasts

I hate Reggie Miller. I like Hubie, I like JVG most of the time.
For football I like Danielson and Blackledge

I like Reggie bc he's honest and not afraid to criticize.
A lot of American commentators are scared to step on players toes or give a warm take on a player. Watch an European soccer match and the broadcasters will flat out call players out for stupid mistakes or basically call them shite. It's quite refreshing.

I really liked Mike Mayock. Blackledge and Herbstriet for CFB.
Aikman and Collinsworth for NFL.

Colinsworth and Michaels are as good as it gets right now. I find myself watching SNF for their commentary even if I'm not a fan of either team.
I also think Aikman does a great job. Love Todd Blackledge for CFB, not a fan of Herbstreit. I also think John Smoltz does a great job of providing insight to MLB games.

I love the Michaels/Collinsworth duo on SNF. Best color AND PBP commentators in the game today by a mile.
Also enjoy Herbie, Blackledge, Smoltz, and usually JVG

I wish more color guys actually provided color. Tell cool stories, make the game more personal. I know that's not what's in vogue, but I think the reason a lot of all ballcasters are revered, like a Vin Scully, was their ability to tell a story.
Collinsworth is the best analyst in the biz, but I do love Blackledge because he makes an effort to give analysis and be a storyteller. He's the closest thing to a classic color commentator we have.
Honestly, my favorite is Razor Reaugh for hockey. He can do play-by-play, give good analysis, and also tell funny stories and make the broadcast pop. He's enjoyable even when the game isn't.

Well, Hawk is technically play-by-play.
However this guy has always been one of my favorite color commentators. Learn something new every broadcast.
