Super 1 in Monroe has an unbelievable meat section dedicated to soul food.

Off cuts and smoked bones/neck

Loved it, I miss that store

Y'all don't have a Super 1?

It's the ghetto version of Brookshires.

Super 1 in shreveport has the same. They also have super fresh produce and a large Hispanic foods section. I shop them if I'm on that side of town

they have a great Mexican section. Dried preppeds and what not, killed a lot of home sickness for me.

A lot of people at my office thought I was crazy for shopping at the food stamp store over brookshires

I love the produce, love the prices. I get my canned goods from here as well which are far cheaper than Rouses or Albertson's. Everything is cheaper across the board. It's like the Aldi of Lousiana/Texas.

Also, when their craft beer prices go on sell, no one can touch their prices. $7.29 six packs of great raft, Sierra Nevada, abita, etc..

When I lived in Lafayette I used to think the Super 1 was like a family dollar or something. I went in there eventually and never shopped anywhere else again. It's a quality grocery store.

Sounded like a Big Lots grocery store. Maybe I am wrong!

I used to shop at the one in Lafayette while in college. It was pretty good then. Prices selection etc. haven't been in one in probably 10+ years so not sure how it's held up
