Military/LEO Workout Thread
Posted on 6/29/17 at 3:19 pm

A thread for all military and law enforcement to post their work outs for the day. As well as what resources they use.
A thread to help each other out and all people potentially joining the military or law enforcement.
Also post what your unit is doing or already did for PT that day to help spread ideas around that others can use.

Will throw in a calisthenics circuit in after that.

PT in the morning wasn't fun after the 4 day, being dehydrated from all the booze and bad food.
We did crazy 8s so basically Push ups, flutter kicks, crunches, planks, squats, lunges and diamond push ups. From sets of 1 to sets of 8 then back down to 1 with no breaks. Capped off with a 2 mile run.
Afternoon sesh is from SOFLete
Strength
12 min EMOM
Min 1 4 power cleans
Min 2 7 reps on bench press
Stamina I changed it up a little
doing 7 rounds
7 deadlifts at 275
20 push ups
5 pull ups

No thanks
I'm out now
I don't miss the early morning pt, too much long distance not enough sprinting for me personally

I've been out a bit, but when I was in, I directed my guys to focus on:
1) Some sort of 5/3/1 or 5x5 program with most of the supplementals being body weight stuff
2) One day of either HIIT or flexibility training (yoga, most often) per week - usually alternating weeks
3) One day of rucking per week progressing in load and distance week over week
Rucking sucks and is definitely not good for your joints and back long-term, but it was unavoidable for us, and we had to be good at it. I didn't appreciate why the infantry and special operations put such an emphasis on it until I was deployed and doing real-deal missions.

I'm an Army reservist and current LEO in South Carolina.
Member at Crossfit gym as my primary fitness. Due to the odd schedule I also mix in some 5x5 stuff for strength along with the crossfit.com main site WOD. First got into Crossfit when I was active in the Army. Been hooked ever since and truly believe it helps in my current job.

Did some snatch work during our strength portion today:
E2MOM for 14 min. 1 hang snatch + 1 overhead squat working to AHAP
then did 14 min EMOM: 4 thrusters (115#RX) 4 C2B pull-ups.
As a side note anyone else in this thread do shift work? We rotate night and day shift every month and work one week MT-FSATSUN then Wednesday Thursday the next week and continue on like that.

Any of y'all bought the 100 Emom book I see advertised on Facebook? What about the elite engine building book?
Been killing the assualt bike and rower but just looking for some more workouts with them. I will say the death by assualt and 100m sprints on the rower are two of the hardest workouts I have done. Death by assualt just feels like you are dying after round 5 or so if you start at 5 calories. You never get a break, it's just constant or you can sprint and do it quickly but then you are on the verge of throwing up shite sucks.

there is the link. And yea I am implimenting a lot more circuits and emom style training and will continue to do so even during my next bulk.
I have been doing the greyskull LCI program and will start 2x/day training starting next week with the LCI in the morning and one of the star circuits from Christian Thib's 6 weeks to superhero program.
I always liked Christian's work but have been liking it more and more lately and will continue on some version of his programs for a while.

Been running a strict 5x5 SL in addition to whatever my CF box is programming. Performance has been through the roof.
Also it's hot as hell down here and I'm on day shift right now so I've been having to eat a metric shite ton to maintain weight.

The past month ive been watching a lot of Jeff Nichols videos
When i get back from leave im going to start his improve run time program, with sprints twice a week.
He was an exercise physiologist before joining the Seal Teams. So hes great at breaking down the actual science.
He does a great job on explaining what are the good programs out there and what are the bullshite money grab ones for tactical athletes.
