Urban dictionary doesn't have the right baw term at all. Need a southern dictionary.
They just have a nasty definition used for testicles that does not reflect the slang word around here.

I always read it as a slang or derogatory term for "boy". Whether that's right or not I'm not sure, but it makes sense to me.

As regards "baw", I was born and raised in North Baton Rouge and 50 years ago when I was a kid in my neighborhood we said baw. When we pronounced it it came out more like "bwa" so that's how I hear it in my head when reading it.
