What's the minimum amount of money you need to live comfortably?

In the city you currently live in?
I know it's the OT so people living in BR will clearly need a few million a year to live there, but I'm curious.
In Boston, between my wife and I, I think the minimum would be $150,000. Wouldn't be a luxurious way of living, but it would be enough to have a nice life.
ETA: in my situation, this is sans children.

I could make it on about $50K, but it wouldn't be particularly comfortable and that would include no savings.
If I scaled back to my college standard of living, I could get by on a pretty good bit less than that.

Nashville, TN. My wife and I make a shade under $100k and live very comfortably and have two kids. The only debt we have are our house and about $15k in student loans. No credit card debt and no car payments.

I make around 50k as a single guy in Memphis and live exactly the way I want to, would probably need double if I had a family to support

Comfortably? That's subjective as hell.

Annually?
And how do you define comfortably? Assuming I would be paying a house note, car note, gas, cell phone, cable, utilities, insurance, property tax, groceries, a budget for clothes (there will be times when you have to buy new shoes, replace old clothes, etc so you would need a budget for this) and a budget for entertainment (if we are talking about living comfortably, which means having enough money go out to dinner, go have drinks, movies, attend games, take a day trip somewhere, etc without it putting you in a jam) and have money to save (two savings, one goes towards investment the other is short-term savings to go on vacation, etc).
Maybe $75,000.
If we are talking about managing your money without having to have the latest and greatest vehicles, not purchasing an overpriced cookie cutter house in the next trendy neighborhood. It could be done with maybe... $45k.

For a single person here in DC I'd say $75,000. That wouldn't be luxurious but you'd be able to afford a decent place and to eat out every now and then.

Live south of Nashville 60 miles. 1 kid. Combined income of $95-100,000. Own home, couple decent vehicles and no other debt to speak of. Save a little, go on vacations when we get ready, and eat out more than we should. I would say we live comfortable. Might not be comfortable to some people, but momma's happy, and in the end, that is all that matters to me.

To own a home in a decent area, married with kids - probably a dual income of $130 or so.

I am a single guy in NOLA and I make 70k. Comfortable is subjective but I am comfortable. What does that mean? I live on about 50% of what I take home. I love that I have zero money worries. I don't have any concerns about bills at the end of the month BUT I am a renter living in an ok small place ina good area... I am ok with that. I also have a 10 year old car. Would I be able to own a home and support a family? I doubt it... but I am not really looking for that.
