Having read and very much enjoying Robert Ludlum's

The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy, and the Bourne Ultimatum. I was really disappointed with the movies. I do understand that you have to change book stuff to make it fit the movie per say. But they pretty much took what made the books great and completely left it out of the movies. You get a little taste of the book in The Bourne Identity but, The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum's plots are totally different.

Lol, I was the other way around with that one. Love the movie, but just couldn't get through the book.

Dune might be at the top of the list.

I hate the Bourne movies because they left out what made the books great, and I saw the movies first.

I'll add The Running Man.

The Hobbit Trilogy what a clusterfrick and I like the LOTR adaptations. Also though a strong movie I hated the changes in The Shining.

Unbroken is the first that comes to mind for me. The book by Laura Hillenbrand (author of Seabiscuit) was an incredible read - one of those can't-put-down books. The movie was a giant ball of meh and totally missed the mark.

Eragon, just threw most of the source material in the trash when they made that clusterf&%k. I understand that they wanted a kid-friendly adventure movie, but dang did they mess that one up.

Any of Clive Cussler's books.

Any of Tom Clancy's books.

The books had almost nothing to do with the movies. Cain is for Charlie and Charlie is for Carlos or whatevs.

Ender's Game was an abysmal abortion of epic proportions.

I'm going pretty nerd here, but Max Payne was a badass video game with a cool story. The movie was steaming hot garbage. Very disappointed.

As far as adaptations from novels, Interview With a Vampire was underwhelming. Also "It" didn't pan out as well on the big screen for me. Hopefully The Dark Tower is done right
