Godspeed, young man.
That family has been through hell.
Here's hoping they find some peace.

This whole story is heartbreaking.

This angers me. This is an American life being lost solely due to NK.

quote:

brilliant young man whose curiosity and enthusiasm for life knew no bounds.

I don't mean to speak ill of the dead and this is an absolute tragedy but I would say that curiosity and enthusiasm is what drove him into North Korea and got himself killed.

Being curious and enthusiastic is fine, it just has to be cautioned, regulated and limited.

My thoughts, prayers and condolences are with his family and friends.

Very surprised that neither side of the aisle is making any uproar about this. They basically took a US citizen hostage, did God only knows what to him to the point that he was brain dead, then sent back his corpse a week before it caught up to his brain.

At least America isn't that bad to our enemies.

That sucks. I'm fascinated by NK too, but would never go there. Just taking a picture of something off limits can land u in hot water.

This is a truly horrible situation but the article I read said his parents knew and were ok with him going to north Korea.

People can be young a stupid but what kind of parent agrees with letting their kid go to north Korea?

There is nothing worse than losing a child, even if their son was foolish to travel to North Korea. My heart breaks for this family.

As a parent, I can't even imagine the pain.

As an American parent, I am so very angry.
